Okay so the reason I'm making this thread is because I'm probably gonna be moving there soon and I need to know if It's redneck there...like is it not very cultured and is it just very "MURICUN"??????? I KNOW for a fact it won't be as diverse and cultured and open-minded like California, but how bad is it?

Thanks so much!

Depends where you move. Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio are the most open minded and Cali-centric. They even have in n outs there. El Paso, Corpus Christi, Laredo, New Braunfels are next on the list. It's pretty much down hill from there. The worst being the northern cities.

real talk tho, im sure Texas isn't bad at all. i think the whole Texas "Murcia" thing is just a stereotype. so no need to worry im sure it will be alright living there.

Texans welcome you with open arms, hold the doors for you... Please don't instigate anything. I think that is what you are trying to do...

LOOOOOL, gotta love spongebob. And thanks xxoo

The part of texas that I live in is full of morons. However, Dallas and San Antonio are both filled to the brim of more educated people.

Bigger cities like Dallas and Austin aren't redneck at all. Austin is actually really hipster lol.

In Texas you can never escape the rednecks. They're everywhere. You can only try to avoid them, but even that can be a challenge

Also, winter no longer exists

lol i live right next to the border so no

i think the upper part of texas is but idk never been there

Texas is a great state full of pride and hard-working Americans.

Houston is a nice place. I've been there after United Airlines got me stuck there. I like the city, but hate the airline with a fiery passion now.

Yeah it depends where you are in Texas, just as most places, some places are going to be more hickish and those would be the smaller towns, the bigger cities are pretty chill.

I lived there for 7 years, and I would say Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, and Plano are the places to be.

I lived in a small village, and we were pretty chill. I see what you mean, though.

Texas is a red state but that doesn't mean that all those people who live there are rednecks. It also depends where you live. I "lived" (long story) in Florida for a couple months and I was also kinda worried because it's a red state but it really wasn't that bad. However back then there hadn't just been an election.
