I’m moving villagers in and out using the Amiibo process. However I’m doing something wrong. What is the correct way to organize my villagers?

To explain things. I don’t know how to get them to move in the order that I would like them.

They keep aligning themselves in the order that they like. Some are coming in through the top, others to the bottom…and I’m not sure how to get them to come in a particular order instead of it being random. I started first with Raddle, and I figured the following villagers would line up underneath his icon…and two of them did. Then all of a sudden the rest started aligning themselves at the top of his icon.

If you look at the picture, I moved in Raddle, then Cube, then Cole, then Portia, Shari and Chester. How come Cube and Cole appeared below and the others above Raddle’s Icon. I’m so confused. 😵‍💫

I believe that they are ordered oldest to newest by their actual move-in date so if you time travel a lot it can get kind of messy.
Ooooof that could be it. That makes sense. I probably time traveled a couple months back after moving Cole in. I never thought time traveling could have any disadvantages until now.

Do you happen to know if there is anywhere in the game that might say when each villager arrived? I have no clue what month Cole came in.

Also thank you so much for that heads up. I was at a complete loss and had no clue what to even do anymore.

I like to keep my game from June-August so I’m always time traveling between those months.

Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to see when they actually moved in.

Its hard to tell which ones are moved in because its RNG.

I think you might have to start moving them in from scratch if you 100% want them lined up…just TT forward only until you’re done.

Also, you can see (not specifically) ‘when’ they moved in if you go to write them a letter…their faces appear from your oldest villagers (at the top, oldest specifically top left) to your newest (at the bottom, most recent bottom right).

Out of curiosity, are you doing a gothic, horror, or dark themed island?

Thank you all! I usually only play from June-August, so I just time traveled forward past those months and was able to get them how I wanted them. 🤗
It took me all day, but we’ll worth it. I think.

Mostly abandoned/ gloomy. I did have a gothic theme in new leaf and I wanted to incorporate some elements here in new horizons. Most of the villagers stayed the same though (they have shades of black and grey). Some areas are a somewhat gothic though.
