I can't think of anything that bothers me too much with the way other people use emojis. Most of the time, I'm speed reading through anyway so I'll just glance at the emoji for context and promptly ignore it.
I don't use emojis very often because there are far too many now and most of the time I can't be bothered to sort through them all looking for the right one to express myself. I used to use text emojis more, but now those are automatically translated into images that I may not like as much, so I've pretty much stopped doing that. I'll only add an emoji if I feel one will help avoid confusion or sometimes for a little flair.
This conversation has gotten me thinking that I might be overusing the regular smiley emoji at work, though. Now that my whole company is working from home, I use it a lot to soften requests, show appreciation, and just convey kindness. But I'm probably using it too much.
