Is there any benefit to paying off your final home loan?

Besides bragging rights, haha. I want to make Nook rich as much as the next person but if I don't really need to pay him those 2 million bells I can think of a ton of other things I could be doing with them...
Will you unlock anything or get any Nook Miles for finishing all the home loans?

Free exterior customization for life. You can do it once a day.. Is that worth paying off 2.4 mil? I dunno considering a customization is only like 5K bells I think. I did pay mine off just because I didn't want to see a loan balance every time I use the machine... LOL

Unless you are planning to change the exterior of your house 481 times or more, no, you will not see any benefit.

You don't need to pay for the basement + the extra storage you get as soon as the basement is complete. That's the OP's question. As you get the basement before paying, you'll only be getting free customizations (which isn't exactly a tremendous reward) and the Nook miles.

I hate debt. Outside the game, I hate owing any money to anyone. So paying off the debt meant it wouldn't bug me xD That was the reason I paid it off A.S.A.P.

Referencing actual rewards, you get to change the outside of your house once a day free of charge!

I waited with paying it off until I had bells to spare so to say, wasn't spending a ton every day so I could do it and it wouldn't hit me hard. But yeah, the benefits are small lmao Just bragging rights, peace and eternal free customization of the house once a day

I did it in the off chance there's a DLC or something that allows us to expand our side rooms/attic/basement more... So I paid it off. The extra Nook Miles didn't hurt either.

5K Nook Miles is kinda worth it. I didn't even know about the unlimited customization.

I bet in the future you’ll be able to upsize all your extra rooms, so that’s when you’ll be glad you paid it off.

I did it 90% for bragging rights and 10% for the Nook Miles Tickets.

I didn't even know how much the customization cost before I entered this thread.
I only recommend if you have the bells to waste and want the Miles achievement.

If you're a hoarder, storage space. I have three characters and the expansion provided recently was a gift. Considering there are more updates and thus items and materials coming, this is good.
It also depends on how much you want to decorate.
If you are good at sorting stuff and also plan to limit deco it doesn't matter. Minimalist little residential homes are also a nice addition outdoors if you want a town or urban feel.
