Is this an unpopular opinion?

I just saw the Animal Crossing track on Mario Kart 8 and I kind of love it. I saw someone in another thread saying they dislike the look of it (the trees specifically), but I kind of love how big and 3-d and sunny everything is. I think it would be so cool to have our towns look like that and for us to be able to explore every angle of the town instead of just looking at it head on.

What does everyone else think? Is this how you'd like the game to look or not?

I think its gorgeous too I'd be happy if that's what we ended up getting. But I'd be open to a different art style as well

I'm obsessed with the mario kart track. I would be thrilled if the new game had the same look!

I wouldn't like the way it looks if AC Switch had Mario Kart 8's graphics of the course Animal Crossing, it would be too realistic for such a cartoony game. I'd say they keep the graphics but make it about 50% improved but 50% not too realistic compared to Mario Kart 8's version.

I too, am a Mario Kart Diehard. (Notice my avatar and signature?) But I really don't see Nintendy doing this.

ignoring the mario kart track, a free roaming camera is definitely something I'd like to see and have mentioned about before

I'm not really seeing the realism in the mario kart graphics though

now the lighting effects and all, maybe. but the graphics just look like "new leaf, but not in a not **** resolution"


that said, I'm still rather neutral on using that style myself. though if I was to hazard a guess, I'd say we'd most likely be getting something better than new leaf, but not as good as mario kart 8. if only because of the sheer number of other content (items, villagers, etc) that would need to be added in as well

I don't know how popular your opinion is, but I also love the track. I don't think they would've included it if most people didn't like it.

The track is beautiful and it will probably be prettier than that. I would love to be able to move the camera around 360 degrees and it would be nice if the camera moved just by holding a joystick in a direction and not have to keep pressing it in a direction multiple times, like in NL.

But the trees are ugly and weird. You were probably talking about me in your OP lol

Ever since that track exist, I hoped for a Animal Crossing main game which looks like that.

Also, unpopular opinion: The trees aren't that ugly. Wouldn't mind if the new game has
both the trees from New Leaf and from this track.

I personally don't want to see a rotating camera. I feel like the whole "animal crossing feel" consists of this single point of view, with homes as an exception. I feel like it would be a completely new game if we could rotate our cameras around, but I acknoweledge your points.

It's just so beautiful. Even if they don't keep the rotating camera angle aspect, I hope they keep the art style and lighting. And the fact that the animal villagers seem kinda huge compared to the racers. I just want to see a huge Bob like in this picture.
