Is Wild World still worth playing?

I guess the game can be bland at times compared to New Leaf (not that I hate the game). Otherwise, the title is self-explanatory.

The graphics are worse, but the music and dialogues are way better imo. Apart from that, there are some events not present in New Leaf that are quite charming (for ex. acorn festival, yay day, ladyday...). I would say yes, it's definitely worth playing :)

Eh, not for me. But I didn't love it so much in the first place, so I'm not one to talk.

Good for a few months but it wears out once your town is populated with all the fruits and your house has been fully upgraded for a while.

I agree about the dialogue part. Wild world has its charms and quirks that I really miss... but after how much freedom you have in new leaf with landscaping (my favourite part of the game) and just the superior graphics, I think it might boring again after a while.

i tried playing it the other day but i just couldn't?? for me personally it's really
boring compared to acnl, it's personal preference but i just didn't enjoy it.
it's much changed when there is no internet and i think that's why? ꒰•́ॢ৺•̀ॢ๑͒꒱

Agreed. I started out playing WW on a friend's old DS, and I loved it, but I was itching to play online (this was June 2015 so the WW servers were no more). I enjoyed WW, but it really just whet my whistle for New Leaf. Plus trying to get fruit and stuff is a pain if you have to rely on letters and ocean coconuts to get them.

I love that it's such a simple game. Although I enjoy the holidays and events in New Leaf, playing NL can take up a lot of time. I can do all of my daily chores in WW in about 30 minutes or so. It makes for a nice, easy, quick game. And maybe I'm getting used to the graphics, but they're really not that bad.

For me, I like the events and the extra detail in little things in AC:WW It really does make a change. I can't really play AC:NL offline for long. Nintendo have made it super easy to do things in NL and places like this means it's easy to get and do whatever. I ended up reseting 4-6 times in NL because it got super boring after I had completed everything.

Actually, I am re-starting my game again, tonight.

I want to find someone who legitimately got the reward for saving 999,999,999 Bells, upgraded their house, got the rainbow feather for donating whatever it is to Boondox, finished the museum and catalogued every single item. I finished the house upgrades, donated all the different fossils and catalogued all the paper types, lol.

The events are a load of nonsense in my opinion. What is there with any real gameplay value? Bug-Off, Fishing Tourney and the Acorn Festival, I guess. Stuff like La-Di-Da Day are just days when nobody has anything interesting to say. :p The dialogue is really good though, when no events are running.

For sure. Wild World was my first taste of Animal Crossing and I will never stop playing it.

Yes. I still love the game and I would still be playing it daily if my DS didn't break.

It's so dated in comparison to NL. Everything in NL is better.

WW is how I got addicted to AC, though. I'll hold it dear in my heart.

You're right, there's a lot less to do in Wild World, so you're done in less than an hour, while New Leaf has so much more that easily take up over an hour- triggering that whole "you're playing too long, take a break" type line from villagers! I think most of that is the shops though, no museum shop (coffee I guess, but you don't work there like in New Leaf), no shoe shop, no separate hat shop since no Labelle, and Nookington's only has 2 floors despite T&T Emporium with 3, so yeah, that alone adds up in New Leaf.

I pop in Wild World to check out Nookington's- I still want to max my points even though I have enough for the 20% discount, and even though it was through a trade, I'd like to actually save enough bells to earn the Town Hall Model (a trader used a hack to unlock them, and sadly I accepted this item from them which totally negates the feeling of getting one by earning it, so I want to earn one now). To me, that dialog of Wild World is unmatched. I feel more connected to my 8 than in any other game before or after. Their personalities truly fit the way they talked, and Resetti, man alive is he rough to deal with- "SAY IT!" LOL

In terms of whether or not I feel Wild World is worth it, yes, it's a smaller game, it's the 64-bit graphics most are un-accustomed to today that makes people disregard it, but give it a chance, the dialog more than makes up for its lack of graphic capability (by the way, playing it on a DS looks better than the 3DS which just makes it look atrocious). Plus, unlike every other Animal Crossing, it's only got only its own holidays, you won't get La-Di-Day, Yay Day, or Acorn Festival in any other game- or Cornimer for that matter.

See, I like La-Di-Day, because they're random tunes from villagers, and my town tune right now is from La-Di-Day, so I like it. I haven't done the Town Hall Model, but otherwise, I've donated fully to the museum, finished my collection (I was the only one of the 4 characters donating so that was pretty easy to do), everything. I've gotten to 270 million bells, and gave up trying, but lately I've been wanting to pick it back up, and earn that Model (I have one technically I got from a hacker).

Ooh, maxing the Nook points is still a good one! I just go crazy when there's the 5x points special, lol. 270 million Bells?! You're crazy. Did you shake trees non-stop or go turnip berserk?
