Since 2014 I have been playing animal crossing new leaf and I have had so much fun designing my town and generally making progress.

I have never played any other animal crossing games besides new leaf and happy home designer so it might be interesting to try something different.

For one thing the npc dialogue is much better than new leaf and in terms of how it's played I could probably get used to it .

The game does have its flaws like the graphics and loads of glitches but in all honesty as long as I am having fun playing it I don't mind it.

There is also wiimfi server to get back online so I can play with others and unlock shampoodle's.

The music in this one is quite good as well.

Should I play this one or wait until open horizons comes out?

* edit :D I finally got my copy of Animal crossing Wild world in the mail today and I am enjoying it so far *

I personally think so!! I loved Wild World, it was my first animal crossing game, yes the game play can be quite slow specially at the start. Plus WW has some exclusive events like the flea market and the acorn festival but it is missing main events like halloween and christmas.

WW has it positives and negatives. I really think you should if you can.

I think it's work a try, I restarted my copy of WW early on this year. :D

Wild world was fun during the time when city folk and new leaf didn't exist. I just don't see a reason to going back to it, even when new horizons is coming out soon. The only reason at this point is for nostalgic purposes, not for anything else. There isn't really anything to do in the game now that wifi got cut.

I'd say it's definitely worth giving a try just to see where the game has come. Boot it up, try out some of the festivals and maybe try and shoot down a ufo (you can actually do that). The game has its perks like the amazing music the ac team develops and the outdated models have some charm to them. One unique thing you can do if you're into modding is model swapping villagers in your town (yes, it's possible in wild world ds with certain tools)

Yep! I say it's definitely worth it. Wild World was my first game ever to play and it's what got me into the series and I have been in love with it since. It might be a bit slow to play at first, but once you get going it's really fun to play everyday. The villager dialogue is really worth it too, as the villagers say a lot more than the villagers in New Leaf did. Overall, I say it's a pretty good game. :)

i think its definitely worth it! it was my original and always has great replay value. My boyfriend only just started playing animal crossing, with his beginning on my old wild world cartridge. He loved it and refused to let me get him new leaf for months as he was so engaged with all the bug catching and fishing (he wanted to complete the museum haha). He now has new leaf and is also enjoying that, just a bit more because we can play online together (i'm giving him a lot of old furniture to help him decorate his house). He still plays wild world at the same time, so he would definitely recommend it. I think the simplicity of wild world is definitely its draw for me, also i loved the flower festival, which isn't in any other game sadly :(
TLDR: definitely worth it, and now i want to replay it haha

I think it is worth playing after 5 years! I like it quite a lot and how you can always restart from new to meet your villagers again from scratch.

I restarted Wild World after playing New Leaf for a couple of years but I couldn't deal with the old school graphics. It seemed like the game was designed during the Atari 2600 era compared to New Leaf.I remember liking Wild World the first time I played it but for me it hasn't aged gracefully. It's odd but I still enjoy going back and playing my old Gamecube town even though it's even older than Wild World.

Yeah yeah play it! I still play that old town on my wild world game. Chief gave me his picture a few months ago. though there is too many weeds , i still play it once in a while to see my villagers and see if any new ones came and left

I like it. :) It's just hard because you have to literally do everything by yourself!!!

Any of the games are worth playing if you can still get some enjoyment out of them! :)
I know I sure have while even playing New Leaf at the same time.

No I don't think so. I never really liked wild world it didn't really add much and I think what it did add was a downgrade. and going backwards from New Leaf you probably will find yourself pretty bored.

TBH you'd probably feel like someone has implanted a 140p quality into your eyeballs. I can't remember much about it. I remember Pellys counterpart always getting angry at me and the rainy cab ride

When I first loaded up Wild World I thought it was the most amazing game I had ever seen, and it really was, back in 2005.

There was nothing out there like it, or that could match it. In my opinion. ^_^

Yes, because back in 2005 we didn't realise what would happen in the next fifteen years int terms of game quality. Bck then the WW quality was Out of this world

I would say yes because Wild World has in fact things to offer which New Leaf doesn't, such as unique holidays, different looking town layouts or Gulliver with his UFO for example. Sure, the graphic is out to date, after all the game is almost 15 years old, but I would say it's worth giving it a try when you never played before, as it is a lovely game where I think you will have lots of fun with. In general, I would say if you have the chance to play the old titles (if you haven't play them yet) then do it, each AC game offers something different and I think it's nice to explore these things, as you can also see how much the franchise changed over the time.

It's just as worthwhile as asking : is Windows 95 worth it when you have Windows 10 ?

Not really!
Wild World is still very playable to some, and a great introduction to the series.

It's what got me hooked. ^_^

To me Animal Crossing is iterative. Unlike any game in the Zelda series. It’s aiming at doing everything the last one did, but better. Hence, there is no reason why an Animal Crossing enthusiast would go back to any previous, lesser version of the same title. The games in this series are meant to replace the previous one, and not form a chain of a consequent series of stories designed to pick up where we last left it.

Not everyone feels that way though.

I like progression but I'm also nostalgic, as many others are.
