i dont really think the fact that there's so many things we can use to decorate outside now really affects my island plans?? like i mean i love all the options, its not like that i dont take furniture things into consideration. but when i plan my island i dont plan it around furniture items, but specific areas.
ive already stated this a few times, but ig i can go more indepth about my island plan. with the way my map is currently, there's the main area where the resident services and airport is, then the river surrounding it separates it from the rest of my island.
where the main are is now, i plan on having all my shops and other npc buildings there. inside that lil plan is the idea that i'll have a boardwalk and a lil park area. the boardwalk will have my shops and villager homes, but the airport separates them so they'll be on separate sides (if we unlock more shops than the 2 we can get atm i might switch the sides around) . since the left side has more space, i plan on putting 2 villagers there so i can give them lil yards and decorations. the right side will have my shops. things like garbage cans, streetlamps, benches, and trees/flowers will be put on the edges of the boardwalk to make them seem more lively. the beaches will have lil towels, sandcastles, and beach balls to make it seem populated. behind the shops on the right side, i plan on having a lil park with a sandbox, jungle gym, and slide. id also like to put streetlamps, benches, and vending machines here. above the park will be my museum.
there will be either 2 or 3 bridges leading to the rest of the island. i plan on moving my river around a bit, maybe shortening it (i hate river fishing compared to ocean fishing) to make more room. the whole left side will most likely be a residential area only. like the beach homes, i want to let them have lil yards as well. i think that this area will look about as urban as the beach, but i would like to incorporate more flowers into it.
the upper middle part of the map will be where my house is. i'd like to make a little valley and put my house in it, with the private beach being in my backyard. i plan to keep my money trees and special hybrid flowers here. it'll probably be decorated seasonally.
the upper right part of my map will probably be like a natural park. like people will go there but it wont rly have much in the way of lighting or seating. i'd like this area to have my only 3rd tier cliff (i dont really like them all too much but i'll need it for some fish). i think this will be the only area with bamboo, but bamboo may grow on me over time.
most of my inspiration comes from watching livestreams as im fishing or bug catching for bells. since i dont rly like to eat and play (cant focus on either) i scroll thru reddit, tumblr, or twitter. i only use those for looking at things/content from the games im interested in, so lately its been animal crossing things. i feel like may of the people i take inspiration from are time travelers, but ive no confirmation. i just find it hard to believe something so pretty can be done with the things we have now.
