I wonder what type of options will be available for the island development? I know nook goes based off of what you choose to do in the game but... how far does that go?

I would looooove to see different versions of the same businesses and whatever one you choose influence what other buildings and items you get.

One idea I really love is different versions of the dream suit. You could have the option to pick from different themes such as a relaxing island resort by the beach (maybe just her and a massage chair under a tent/surrounded by trees on the beach), a more modern city look(think of a white polished room with more modern furniture), or the original building.

This way you could decide whether you want your town to look more tropical, like a bustling city, or maintain the original style of older games. Each decision could impact what crafting items you unlock (i.e. a pavement option as a path for more an island with a lot of city influence) and of course youd be given the option to unlock the other forms of items through different means later on.

Overall I absolutely agree that customization/variation of the shops would be great! However, a small concern of mine is that having different customization branches could limit our options of freely picking and choosing the elements we want. That wouldn?t be a problem as long as we could still, like you said, get access to all features and items eventually.

The reason I even bring up this concern is that some of the official comments on unlocking buildings/NPCs have worried me a bit. I want to be able to create a half-rural, half-modern Island, not be forced into building or upgrading things I don?t want in order to get the things I do want. My hope is that we really will have the creative freedom they?ve promised, instead of being stuck on one themed track or another without being able to change course or mix things up to our liking.

I would like it if could choose the design of the shops and buildings. Like next to their typical standard
designs, you can pick another design from a small selection, which would may fit much better to your
town theme. I also hope you can plant cedar trees now everywhere on the island, not just on the north
part of it. That would really helpful for me to finally realize an idea I had for so long. Besides this, being
able to plant as much trees and bushes you want in one line without getting worried that they some of
them may die would be great for landscaping, like no limits. I hated that issue in New Leaf so much,
especially those dead spots were so annoying. In general, more freedom in terms of landscaping
would be awesome.
