Okay, so I have been up in the air about getting a guide because of the cost of shipping, but I think I want to get one and translate it to pass the last three months until the games release. Since we will obviously get a guide in America, I think I want a guide that has the American guide likely won't include like all of the furniture remakes! Which guide does everyone suggest I get? A complete guide would be great too as long as it includes ALL furniture :3
I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been thinking about this.

Scanning, translating and publishing it online would be illegal.

I bough this big guide (I think it's called complete cataloge or something like that). And I'm excited to read it, my Japanese is still very bad but I think I will understand most of the things listed in the catalog. I will read and try to translate the book to pass the time until June (no I won't release any translations or content of the book online).

btw you can buy a great game guide on this website:

not the one I'm getting though... I ordered this one on the right:

If you are familiar with Japanese, I suggest you get the Nintendo DREAM guide (ISBN 978-4-19-863539-8). In addition to its thoroughness, its ample number of images and ample use of furigana make it even easier to understand. Yes, it shows all the items that can be remade, including images of the resulting, remade items.

Based on past experience, all four Japanese guides have far more information (including the "official" Nintendo guide published by Shogakukan) than what is likely to appear in any North American guide.

I think everyone is misunderstanding me..
I want to translate it for myself to spend time waiting for the actual game. XD

Could you post a link to the guide? I'm not sure where to search that ISBN number. Thank you!

I would have gotten the guide, but I'm in my final year and have so much work to do, I don't have the time to translate.

But there are heaps on scans on tumblr which i've been translating and stuff.
It looks like a really good book though.

I checked the price online for the lols
>> $20 for guide book
>> $50 shipping

LOL. no.

If you're in the US, just search 'tobidase doubutsu no mori guide' on amazon.com. People have started importing the guides from Japan and putting them up for sale, so you'll only have to pay like, $5 shipping to your state instead of $50.

I'm also thinking about doing what you're doing, Jesirawr. I'm hoping to get the big white guide off of amazon.com and then spend the next 3 months looking at the images and translating bits and pieces! :)

Australia tho

I ordered the one from yesasia.com :)
first i wanted to order the one from amazon, but I live in the netherlands, and the shippingcosts were more than the guide itself...
Now I paid $31

I thought about getting that one but I figured that the catalog guide would have a lot more pictures in it and that's mostly the reason I wanted one as I am not fluent in Japanese.

The one you ordered was my first pick too. But the price for shipping to the netherlands was really to high for me. But I think this is a great second choice :D

Indeed. I probably would have bought that same one if the shipping was any worse for the USA.

omg you got your guide for like ?10 less than me. i paid ?9 for the book and ?30 for shipping. meh oh well i still love it ^^

@xPuck1990 when will your guide arrive?
I am curious because I live in the Netherlands too. I still doubt between ordering from the Japanese Amazon or Yesasia.

The website said that the shipping is about 4 weeks, I orderded it 13th March, so I think it will arrive the second week in April. I will post it when it arrived :)
