She also sands her sculptures, so that's why they look so smooth (if that's what you mean by texture?)

If you use wire already, maybe it'll be easier to integrate it at the beginning of the process? she has a guide for wire armature (and other things) on her ask-blog. wire seems like just the basic stick figure shapes so it's not terribly complicated.

Tumblr is pretty easy to use and it might help you get a larger audience? plus i'm sure people from tbt will follow you~
I'm not sure how popular sculpting is on tumblr but maybe pinterest (never used that before tho xD).

Agh, she also has so many tools (I really need to invest into those...) I literally only use a needle, an exacto-knife and my finger nails xD
I know I could probably do so much better if I had the right materials. I'm just currently saving up to meet my bf so I get so scared that if I spend any money I won't have enough to help him get here ; ^;
Once we're settled a bit though, I will definitely get more efficient tools to help with my work. I do plan on really trying to improve and get more advanced as I get older and get more settled and all that. Kind of in a stressful situation recently, so it's hard to focus on better my skills and getting the things I need to do so.
You showing me these does kinda make me feel less advanced as I had kinda believed to be, but it also motivates me to really strive to improve on what I can do. So thank you ^^

Maybe you can find tools on amazon? I find that some art stuff is actually cheaper online than at Michael's or other art stores /: tools would be a good investment though, even though meeting your boyfriend sounds like a bigger priority at this point.

I think it's always good to be on the lookout to constantly improve and to see what other people are doing - I think you're super talented and have a strong foundation to build your skills. there are loads of blogs out there now so the world is literally your oyster.

Really? It's more of a sculpting clay, rather than molding clay like polymer clay is. I actually learned with that first when I was still in school, it takes a lot more defining, more expensive and has to be baked in a kiln which the cheapest one is like really small (maybe like small bowl-sized) and is still like $300+ to get one @ .@ and takes hours to fully bake (like 8+)
I self taught myself to sculpt with bisque about 2 years ago, then once I graduated, since I no longer had an opportunity to use that kind of clay, I switched to polymer clay, which took some getting used to cuz they're very different types of clay, but I've been practicing with it for a year now, in May (when I officially started up my Etsy shop) ^^

Ah, maybe I should xD they're like $30 at Michael's D: anything over $10 always scares me away, lol.
He should be visiting next month :3 so once that's out of the way, should destress me a bit.

Nono, it's ok! I'm just pretty insecure about myself and everything I do, so my confidence drops fairly easily, but it's not your fault! Though I may get a lil sad, I know if I keep trying at it, I can get better, even if not exactly the level they're on! But I'm still really young, so I definitely have time to improve :3
