last film you watched!

Death Race was on TV a couple nights ago. It wasn't as boring as I thought it would be!

Hey hey hey, it was alright! What'd you hate about it so much?

I'm kidding, man. I thought it was alright as well. But maybe the acting could have just been a little better. And the visuals were actually kinda cool, but its not enough to make a great movie.

But what I really hated was the change from the original one. I liked the original, but this remake sucks compared to this one.

Now back on topic here:

Last movie I watched was Letters From Iwo Jima. Nice war film, and I had the Japanese language version.

Gone with the Wind.

Yes, I actually managed to sit through the entire movie once again. So long, but so amazing....

I was on the phone last night and Hairspray came on. I mean I know I wasn't fully concentrating on it, but what the heck is that all about??? I couldn't finish it, when I ended the call, I ended the film.

(Ugh, I can never unsee John Travolta as a woman now)

Try out the original 1988 version. They had an ACTUAL TRANSVESTITE play the character that John Travolta did. It's creepy, but every time that character is portrayed on stage, or anywhere else, it's always a man. Pretty creepy, isn't it?

Anyway, the last movie I watched was Bonnie and Clyde.

The last film I watched was Saving Private Ryan. I always end up crying at it and I seem to be the only person who likes the cowardly guy in it

You're not the only one who ended up liking the cowardly guy as well. And I also cried my eyes out watching this amazing movie.

Hahahaahahaa! Sorry, I'm trying hard not to picture him crossing dressing. ;)

Ahem, I saw The Impossible for the 2nd time. See this film people! NOW.

Try to watch the original "actress" from the 1988 version doing that character.

Anyway, the last movie I watched was Brazil. What a great dystopian movie.

The last movie I saw in a theater was Oz the Great and Powerful. The last one at home was Mad Monster Party.

Odds are, you've heard about the first one, so not saying anything about it except it's definitely worth seeing if you haven't yet. It just came out on DVD/Blu-ray a couple of days ago, so hunt it down.

The second movie is a 1966 Rankin & Bass movie (you know, the guys who made the stop-motion holiday programs). It takes place on an island and is about the leader of the monsters (a 'mad scientist' type voiced by Boris Karloff) named Baron Frankenstein (yes, that family!) who has decided to retire. He wants to leave the 'family business' to his nephew, a very dweeby fellow. The Baron has called a convention of monsters in order to make the announcement. Needless to say, they aren't terribly pleased and form various partnerships to try and eliminate 'that human'. Phyllis Diller provided the voice for 'the Monster's Mate', whom she referred to as 'Fang', just like Diller referred to her husband in her stand-up.

There are obvious gags that kids will get, but also more sophisticated humor for adults. One of the actors, who ended up doing most of the voices, patterned the voices after various movie icons - James Stewart, Lon Chaney, etc. Considering how long ago it was made, it's well acted (you can't really think about the characters as dolls; they really seem like little actors). One of those cult favorites that's worth checking out.
