"Yoko has returned, they cry."
I've never really been fond of Lottie or Lyle, but new content is new content. If this actually happens, the likelihood of which seems to be in question, the mention of ceiling fixtures and/or possibly being able to redesign villager home interiors sound more likely to me than the mention of more home exterior choices. Granted, I'd love more home exterior options since the selection feels a bit more uniform and stifled compared to New Leaf's offerings, but it feels like it would be sort of a weird and convoluted way to bring them in when Tom Nook already handles that side of things. Perhaps Lottie's introduction and more focus on the Happy Home Academy, if that's still a role she serves in this game, could see Tom Nook add more exterior selection options as a tie-in.
I guess I'm down for whatever until we know more. Ceiling fixtures in particular sound nice. If they never reimplement the option to set appointments to visit your residents' houses and buy junk from them (Klaus has two pieces of clothes just sitting in his house currently and I dislike it), and I doubt they will because that seems like something that would have been in the game at launch if there was any intention of it whatsoever, then the option to redesign their houses sounds like a fine compromise. It feels like maybe a bit of overreach to me, but hey, I wouldn't complain. It would seem especially useful for any residents you acquired from the early game, like the starting Jock and/or Sisterly or the initial Lazy, Normal, and/or Peppy you can acquire from the Nook Miles Islands.
If it does come to pass, I'm interested in seeing what her role ends up being.
