Live and let live.
Hey, I'm glad Sarge is feeling a little better at least. I lost my dog at the beginning of this year from congestive heart failure. He was born with an enlarged heart and the sac around his heart began taking on fluid at the end, which had to be drained constantly, and it was very difficult on him. He was in a lot of pain at the end and it was very hard to lose him. But I was thankful to have had him around for 12 years, which was a feat in itself considering how many physical issues he was born with.
Reading other peoples' stories always hits me hard and it's like I'm living through that moment all over again. I hope Sarge is able to live the rest of his days relatively pain free. Treasure every moment with him.
Thank you so much, he's doing relatively well. The medication is keeping him pain-free, and he's actually turning 12 in July! The doctor just warned us that he can have a sudden heart attack at any time, so we just have to keep someone with him at all times. On top of that, my other dog, Spunky, an American Eskimo, just got diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I didn't want to ask too much of everyone on here, so I didn't update the OP with that. They gave him about 6 months, but that was a month or so ago. He'll be turning 13 in July. Times are tough when you're losing both of your (almost) lifelong best friends. I'm just happy they both had long, happy lives. I'm sorry about your doggy as well, I'm happy he lived a long life too! Dogs are such amazing creatures, they can be in so much pain, but still love you with every ounce of their being.
