Likelihood of ornaments dropping?

So its my first day of having decorated cedar trees, and although only some actually are decorated, I focused on shaking only those WITH the lights on, but not all of them dropped nine- or any at all. It varied tree to tree how many would drop, and I was wondering if it's not guaranteed that any, let alone nine would drop no matter how many times I shake the tree? Can you only collect a certain amount daily? Do non-decorated trees drop ornaments too?

Also- are there only three colours? Red Gold and Blue? I could have sworn there were more colours- but I may just be mistaken on that one.

Please let me know if there's been any datamining or facts or personal experiences with the rate that ornaments drop. I sit there for a couple minutes shaking one tree, only for nothing to fall out?

Okay, I was curious, so I just did a bit of counted shaking. I did 30 shakes (hitting the button 30 times) for each tree.

Tree 1: 5 ornaments
Tree 2: 5 ornaments
Tree 3: 4 ornaments
Tree 4: 6 ornaments

As for what colors came from which, I didn't keep that tally, but I will say I expected gold to be the hardest to get, but I'm actually having a harder time getting blue. So far this morning, I've gotten 15 gold, 30 red, and 18 blue, which I guess isn't that big of a gap, but I'm also eyeballing the DIYs that all take more blue than gold, so I'm waiting on my blue drop rate to suddenly pick up

I managed to get 18 ornaments from two trees (both gave me 9)

Overall I have way more blue than others (20:10:10, B:R:G), but this tree I just shook gave me 7 blue, 1 red and 6 gold

It looks like drops are quite similar to twigs from regular trees. Today I gathered at least of 30+ of one colour and 60+ of other two colours and had enough. There are just three colours: red, gold and blue.

Agree with monokuma that they seem to be similar to drop rates of twigs! I know I'm going to have oodles by the time winter is over, but I'm also charging at the gate to get decorations out so I'm shaking em like crazy XD

I don't think a gold is unique because its colour.
However, it looks like we have complete lack of balance - "ornaments" are really easy to get, some festive recipes comes from balloons but "winter or whatever" recipes only coming from snowboys.
I decided not to make any snowmans or snowboys and will create some oasis with palms in the middle of my island to show my disagreement

I got over 30 in all colors from 1 tree just keep shaken.
