No, they don't.. Less people are wanting Pietro lately, the amount of signatures with him in is declining, and he's appearing less and less in the VTP, but there aren't enough LF posts to keep his popularity up
Just because you and JoJo like him, doesn't mean everybody else does

I appreciate this thread, Hound00med. You know I appreciate it. And I will say this: This past February, I asked forum members in general why they appreciate the Top Tier villagers.

The list, on January 28, of the Top Tier villagers were:
Fourteen [14] of those sixteen listees are still, as of April 20, 2014, ranked in the Top Tier. That says a lot about staying power.

^ Ankha has been on the rise since then, which makes it a relief that I got her as a starter in my second town where she is a dreamie! My mayor's house lines up with her's :3

I just got Ankha in my second town of Progress.
She suits the Snooty villager Personality very well.
I just marvel, looking back two to three months ago, at some of the consistency. Aside from Marshal being No. 1 back then as he is here on April 20, you see that Julian and Fauna, to name two other villagers, are pretty much where they were back then as where they rank right now.
It is impressive.

Being honest here.. Marshal's popularity has peaked.. In my opinion, he will not stay number 1 much longer..
Merengue, Lolly or Ankha will be the next number 1.. I'm not sure which, but it'll be one of them

I feel like I have been seeing Lolly and Ankha more than Merengue (o_o), but yes this is true. Less of Marshal (T_T)

I would also say its between Lolly or Ankha. Personally I favor Ankha. But I see more people trying to get Lolly. (She also sells higher). (I think) but price isn't what determines popularity. So I'm not sure which will take Marshalls spot. 
As much as I love my marshmallow squirrel, I am happy to see this.
Finally no more people taking advantage of Marshals worth(as much as they are now) and trying to sell him for double of what he is actually worth!

Alright everyone, I've mentioned this a thousand times before, but still no-one seems to click.

I DO NOT BASE A VILLAGER'S POPULARITY SOLELY ON WORTH.
I base their popularity on how often I see them in signatures, in LF posts, how often they're snatched up in giveaways/cycling threads and then finally auctions.
A fair amount of people who want Merengue, already have her.. The same can be said for Marshal.. This still makes them popular! Just because people have them doesn't mean no-one likes them anymore!

OT tho, I think Lolly really is becoming more popular, not sure about ankha. I think her place is great as is but thats just my opinion! just glad to see Ruby/Tom moving forward
Woo~ Fang is moving up. <3 Sadly this just makes it harder for me to get him, but woohoo! I agree with Marshal stepping down from number 1. I would think Merengue would be the next one. I feel like I still see her a lot more than Ankha or Lolly but maybe I'm just not paying close attention.
