I completely disagree with this...
I have sold 2 meregnues... 1 not even a week before Marshal.
My Merengue thread literally got 1 offer... and it was for 15mil.
My Marshal... thread got to 3 pages ... and winner was 40mill.
I'm not saying because of the price... Marshal ran for a few hours more, but even when it was in the same time frame as the Merengue one, it had a lot more than a single offer.

Even though I think Merengue is cuter but I'm personally not a fan of either.

I would think that if someone was absolute #1 ... the thread should have gotten more than a single offer. XP

Timing is crucial when it comes to threads.
I've given away Beau before and he almost got voided if it hadn't have been for Reddit (same deal with Lolly, Rosie and Zucker before)
The max price a villager goes for isn't ALWAYS a determining factor of how popular a villager is..
For example, a villager in Tier Five could have two people really wanting them and bidding them up to something like 5mil.. But that doesn't necessarily contribute to popularity because it's only two people, but they're willing to pay for a villager they want..
But as I've said on the first post, I don't base this all just on sales

And both were active around the same time of day... so I didn't post them in deadzones. XP
I think many people were scared to look for him since they knew a lot of times the price was insane...
But now that you dethroned him and put a queen in power, I think more people will actually try looking for him now in hopes prizes will drop and what not. XP
But... I never really saw the appeal of him... and when people were like "but wait until he is in game!" ... well... I did... Julian is still cuter in my opinion. XP
