Hello~ As I have been documenting my odyssey to find Raymond the cat via Nook Miles Islands, I have come across a few interesting discoveries and want to asses everyone's findings if possible (if any of you have been keeping logs) in order to -hopefully- benefit the community seeking specific villagers via this method.

This is right after my 6th (smug) villager has moved in from the campsite. I have set down 1 open plot to make villagers appear again in islands.

In 30 trips conducted between yesterday (25/03) and today (26/03) my data reads as follows:

I will not list the specific animals to save on space unless you guys are interested in the detailed list. In 30 trips I have also encoutnered Gladys and Octavian twice. So it's possible to get duplicates.

personalities: normal 8/30, jock 7/30, cranky 6/30, snooty 4/30, lazy 3/30, peppy 2/30
only flowers i have encountered are :mums (native) and hyacinths
only fruit i have encountered are: apples (native) and oranges
i have encountered bamboo: 4 times

another interesting fact: yesterday all of my tours had sunshine, whereas today all of them had rain

and back on the mile farming loop I go...

What happens when you have the 6th plot but don't find a villager to recruit from one of the Islands?
Does a random one just move in? Can you use an amiibo card to get a villager then?

I'm assuming perhaps a random villager will move in after a few days? I haven't had mine long enough to be able to confirm or deny. You can definitely scan an amiibo to make them appear in the campsite though. For amiibo, after 3 consecutive invites, and if you have fulfilled their crafting requests in each of their visits, they will accept to move into your town.

I see... I was just curious how much time one had to potentially recruit a new villager through an Island Tour.
I remember that in New Leaf if you had an open space and didn't invite someone in time, a void from another person's town would often move in.
