I searched for a thread like this and was surprised there wasn’t one, at least not that I could find. Which of these four do you prefer? I’m interested in seeing how lopsided this poll gets, lmao.
I have to go with Wario here. Wario was always my favorite of the four. He was my main for the longest time on Mario Party 4, which was my childhood. I loved that game so much. I didn’t have a reason for liking him, but I was just drawn to him.
This one was tough, trying to decide between Luigi and Waluigi. I went with Luigi because he’s really precious and I love the green outfit, but Waluigi is such a meme.
Luigi for sure! I love that he's always fighting against his own fears to be the hero, compared to his brother who's seemingly not afraid of anything. I don't hate Mario, but Wario comes in second. He's hilarious, and his games are a nice break from all the generic-hero character games.
My favorite of these is definitely Waluigi. Purple is my favorite color, his mannerisms are great, and I like his design. I wish Nintendo would actually let him be a playable option in a mainline Mario platformer style game alongside Wario, or in a Wario game, or really anything outside of just the sports, party, and other side games.
Second place is Wario. I find Wario generally more appealing than either of the Mario Bros. due to his personality, the garlic, and his more bulky, powerful depictions in things like Smash Bros.
Luigi is third because of the Luigi's Mansion series. He has a case for being second for me, but yeah, Wario's character is just more my speed I guess.
That leaves Mario in last place for me. I don't dislike him, but he's just comes across to me as the most bland when compared to the other three.
Luigi is my answer for sure and green being my favourite colour definitely plays a part but I also think I just relate to the younger sibling vibe more that Luigi is often portrayed with.
I voted for him. Sure the others are great for their meme/comedy (Wario and Waluigi) and Luigi is great deuteragonist doing his best and facing his fears, but the series wouldn't be what it is without Mario. So I got to go with him. Luigi Mansion is fun, but there's just a different level of mood to games like Odyssey, Galaxy, Sunshine, 64 ect.
