Massive TT Mistakes?

I made a huge TT mistake today- but fortunately, it ends happily. I haven't played in my main town in a week or so, so I decided to go back to December 29th to make sure no one would move out of my town. Well, I was kind of surprised when I woke up with bed hair- I had played on Toy Day and no one had moved out, so what was the problem? So I went to Shampoodle and got it fixed up and then went to talk to some villagers, and they were all surprised to see me. I was so confused! Finally, I talked to Deirdre, and she mentioned that it had been 12 months since she last saw me. What? So I made sure no one was moving, like I had planned, and stopped Bluebear from leaving Sutton. When I saved and went back into the game to TT forward back to today, Isabelle told me that the date was December 29th, 2016. I forgot to change the year back to 2015 when I was setting the time and I overlooked it when Isabelle was confirming. But no one moved out! Someone must have asked to move the last time that I played, and I sure am lucky that they did, because I didn't lose a single villager.

Have you had any massive TT mistakes like this one? Did you have a stroke of luck like I did, or did it end tragically?

I can see this being a mistake lots of people make after the new year.

I don't time travel, but for those who do, it's a good thing that you made this thread so someone might know what to watch out for. I know plenty of people will be hopping back a week casually without considering that the year doesn't change unless you do it manually.
