Max Villager Cap announced by IGN

It's potentially not actually true, but IGN claims you can have 10 villagers on your island. Would be a shame if that's the case ;(

A little unfortunate it wasn't bumped up even a little bit, to say 12, but 10 is more than enough for me so I'm not going to be bothered too much over it, especially since the island isn't much larger than New Leaf's town. 36 Acres compared to 30, its only really an extra row.

I don't mind, I think 10 is enough. But who knows, with nook miles maybe we can upgrade that number too?

I also don't mind, it seems like there are gonna be a lot of shops and buildings filling up the island anyway, and that's before taking all the outdoor furniture into account

With being able to place things outside, having no shopping district, and terraforming, having more than 10 might be a little messy.

I'm not too worried. If 10 is the confirmed number I'm sure there is scope for it to be increased with future updates etc.

I really wouldn't be surprised if later down the line there is an island expansion (secret island!?) update with more villagers moving in.

I don't think we should expect that much honestly. We'll definitely be getting a lot more update content than ever before, but a whole new island seems unlikely to me (and expanding our existing one would just be awkward). We can hope though...

Really?! that is a bummer. It isnt that 10 villagers cant make the island feel lively, its just that i like too many villagers that i would like to have permanently.

12 villagers would've been perfect and I was really hoping for at least that. I do wonder when we'll get more than 10 again but that's thinking too far ahead right now lol.

I don't mind the 10. I remember the GameCube with 15, and that could be a bit much to keep track of, at times.

I don't necessarily trust that this is true. If anything, ACNH has proven to be a slower game than others in the series and its quite possible we will get more than 10 further down the line and IGN just hasn't accessed that part. Although, its definitely probable and I'm fine with 10 villagers

I’m ok with it.

At first I wanted 12-15 but I’m way more interested in having more space to decorate my island so 10 is a satisfactory number.
