Meeting Animals while Exploring

Do we know what fruits are native?
Have they added grapes? :)

Pears, apples, cherries, oranges and peaches are confirmed through direct footage, I think if anything if they are added, grapes will be a tropical foreign fruit like lychees, durians and lemons were

So, same as always. :)

when i saw that part of the direct where you could invite villagers i got so excited. hopefully this helps to curtail the villager "black market" a bit, along with nintendo rereleasing amiibo cards. i have cards of some of my faves but not all of them (who is going to pay $30 for a single villager?!?) so i hope each island has maybe one or two random animals milling about.

then again... it looks like this installment will introduce a loooot of new players. i hope it will all be enough.

I love this feature! I used amiibo in NL to move in villagers, but it felt artificial and it felt like the relationships I had with my favourite villagers weren't real - just forced. I got my entire dream town only to discover that I didn't really care about most of them even though I loved them in other towns. So I think this is the perfect way to scout out my favourites along with new villagers and still have the relationship feel natural!

Basically everything that others have said!

- less lonely when you're bug-hunting / fishing off-island

- possibly no need for TT now that we can visit other islands that may be in a different hemisphere and different season

- people who can't play online (it does cost money) can still collect all the fruits and meet villagers

- they actually brought in a good aspect of PC (!)

- it's much more rewarding to find your dreamies and have a great memory of meeting them on a far-off island, finding bugs and fishing with themm and convincing them to come to your island than it is to just scan their card and get them in your campground

- no need for amiibo cards to get your dreamies

- by putting this in, Nintendo shows that they are making every effort to have any additional costs (online sub, amiibo cards) be totally optional and the game be completely playable and non-frustrating without those extra purchases

I just love this. I'll be pocketing so many flowers and bamboo shoots, strippin these islands bare of resources like I'm playing age of empires.

Yes! I am looking forward to running into someone I would love to have in my town. Who knows, I might meet a villager I thought I would never want to live in my town and suddenly I like their charming personality? It feels a lot more engaging and rewarding.

I like that Nintendo feels like it is trying to give the players the full game without accidentally locking things behind Nintendo Online. Yeah, you won't be able to play online without one, but at least you won't be locked away from anything really important.

I have the majority of Amiibo cards from my New Leaf towns so I?m good. I do look forward to meeting villagers from other islands. Who knows, may run across a new villager I just gotta have. ;)

I think it's really cool that we get more ways to meet villagers. In New Leaf, the only times you truly got a choice of inviting someone to live in your town outside of amiibo cards was for campers at your campsite and if you invited someone who was in boxes in another person's town. It seems like we're getting tons of options now. I like that.

I also like that, even if you aren't going to invite a villager to your island, you still have opportunities to meet other ones.

I think it's really neat we can find villagers we actually like and can invite them to our islands. I don't have a lot of Amiibo cards, so all of these other options are great for me! Personally, I don't mind who moves into my island, but getting a choice seems like a fun option. I do have villagers I like and some I dislike, so I might be a little picky about who comes in. :p
