Meeting Animals while Exploring

I get it, It's a game that means a lot to a ton of people.

Yep, been playing it for 15 years. I love it.

You're right that being concerned about microtransactions isn't silly, but it does seem like you're possibly spending more time being worried than looking into the facts.
(I hate to add to derailing my own thread, but this article gives you a good idea—and pictures!—of the item collaboration they're talking about. Maybe that sets your mind at ease a bit?)

On another note, thank you satine for bringing the discussion back to the original topic! ^^

It's a blocked page.

Do you have another link?
I'd love to take a look. :)

I found the article.
I thought we'd be able to get actual PC items, these were PC replica cookie cart etc.

Lol! You're welcome! I didn't realize something else was going down till I posted s;dlfkjdsf.

But I am seriously so excited for this feature! It will be such an exciting way to spend time on the game. I think it adds so much more importance and meaning on doing little chores or activities like fishing or weeding or catching bugs. They've really really incentivized it a ton with this option. In a silly way it'll feel similar to walking through the brush to see what sorta Pokemon you're gonna catch, lmao! Except of course it's different than that too. I think that's what it reminded me of though. I never filled up my encyclopedia for bugs/fish before, and I think this'll be a really cute way to make it feel more important to spend time doing activities like that! I hope that there's a huge amount of Nook Miles possibilities cuz I'm gonna be using this feature a whoooole bunch.

Right? I almost wanted to ask if people were going to go "Dreamy hunting" the way they hunt for shinies in Pokemon, but that seemed somehow rude toward the Animals lol

Yeah that's what I tried explaining earlier?but a picture is worth a thousand words, right?
They're basically just cross-promoting/advertising the games at no extra cost to the players.

Boy does the way this thread went make me grateful for the ignore list function!

I'm so excited for the idea of meeting animals out on random islands. The deserted island exploring already sounded like a cool idea, but adding the chance of coming across villagers you're hoping to add to your town sounds like it'll make it a much more enjoyable feature for a longer period of time than it will take to collect all the fruit/bugs that can't be found on your own island. It also sounds way more rewarding to finally find the ones you're looking for and invite them to your town than to wake up one day and see they've moved in randomly (or get them from someone else's town or an amiibo card).

Well, this comes off a little rude... though I'm probably one of the people you ignored. /:

Glad the thread's back on topic, at least.

i think it?s a great new feature! not only can you venture to get different items native to other islands, you always have a chance at finding a villager you like :3

Honestly since I don't have to worry about island map layouts too much, first thing I'm doing is hunting down a ton of apples if it isn't my native fruit, assuming perfect fruit doesn't make a return.

Right?? Not only can you go out to possibly find a fruit that you're missing on your island, as well as a new flower you haven't obtained before or maybe some new insects or fish, but you could also find a dreamie lurking in it all!

And yes exactly Fey lol! I almost erased what I wrote!! I didn't want to make them sound like something to be captured But that's legit what it feels like!

i hope perfect fruit returns - i really liked the look of it ahah

Perfect Apples are my spirit animal

.. if fruits were animals.

Well, there's Tangy. So it kinda works?

And Apple, the hamster!

Though she looks less like an Apple than Tangy does like an orange I suppose lol.

Tangy and apple can now only be found sitting under their respective fruit trees on island tours :p

bro wait that’d be so cute - if someone took a pic of tangy or apple under their respective fruit tree, i’d probably cry lol

I might plan to do this for Rooney, provided the rumor to invite villagers to move in during island tours is true, as I do not have his card.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to "capture" my poor dreamies... good thing I own their souls in the form of Amiibo cards!!

LOL. Just kidding.... kinda.

I love this idea so much. It's easily one of my favorite surprises from the direct.

I won't be buying amiibo (just not how I like to play, no judgement to anyone who does), so going to island and meeting villagers there is going to be like a more exciting and convenient campsite.

Knowing me, I'm going to meet a dream villager on an island during a time when my island is at full capacity haha
