Introduction
Lord Ineog has gotten word that 12 wretched souls have burned their invitations to join him in his monster ball. Each and every one of them burned into flames and died the moment they lit their invitations on fire in order to join the demon lord in his underworld manor. But worry not! Once the ball is over your mortal form will rise from the ashes and you shall return to your abnormal monstrous selves. That is, unless you are believed to be one of the party crashing monster hunters. In that case, you may never return from his domain...

Introduction:
Mafia is a game of the uninformed majority versus the informed minority. To elaborate, the game is typically divided into two teams: the Town and the Mafia. Mafia know who each other are (in this setup, after the cells), and can coordinate their actions privately. Town players on the other hand don't know anything other than their own role. To compensate, there are many more Town than Mafia. The objective of the game is for Town to try and get rid of mafia by killing (in games with PRs) or eliminating all the Mafia before it is too late. The typical game is divided into repeating phases of Day and Night. Day revolves around voting for a player to be eliminated. Night is reserved for the Mafia to make their kills and certain players to use their special abilities.
Be warned - Mafia requires a time commitment. This generally depends on the player, but at minimum 30 minutes a day of solid effort is required. As part of the time commitment, Mafia requires a great deal of reading. Most people are actually quite poor at reading comprehension and playing Mafia is a great way to improve your reading ability, as well as your writing and ability to think and argue logically.
How to Play Mafia for New Players:
Welcome to TBT Mafia. Mafia is a game of the informed minority versus the uninformed majority. To elaborate, the game is divided into two teams: the Town and the Mafia. Mafia know who each other are, and can coordinate their actions privately, in this game that will only occur when the waiting room phase is over. Town on the other hand don't know anything other than their own role. To compensate, there are many more Townies than Mafia.
At the beginning of the game, you are PM'd your role. The game is divided into repeating phases of Day and Night. Day will generally last at least twice as long as night and revolve around voting for a player to be eliminated. Each player (including Mafia) get one vote, and players must figure out who the Mafia are, and convince others that they are correct. At the end of the day, the person with the most votes is eliminated, and their alignment and role are revealed (in most setups, just not this one!)
Night is typically shorter than day and is reserved for Mafia night kills and players with special abilities. Usually, players discuss the results of the elimination at night, and make plans for the next day. When night ends, everyone will be informed of who died during the night. The new day will begin, and discussions for the elimination begin anew.
Mafia is a game of logic, intuition, persuasiveness, reading ability, emotion, and will. In short, its a thinking man's game. There are many different ways to approach the game and every game is a very different experience. In addition, Mafia is not for the faint-hearted or overly emotional. While not occurring every game, sometimes people can get into very heated arguments with one another. People can get very emotional playing Mafia, as it is a high-intensity endeavor. That being said, playing Mafia is an excellent to develop thick skin, improve your patience, and make yourself a stronger person mentally.

About the Setup
This will be a variation of the cell mafia setup. For the first three phases, three groups of four will be split up into waiting rooms. Each cell will contain one mafia goon and three vanilla townies. The objective for town is to eliminate the mafia goon.
This setup will be flipless. Upon a players death, their alignment will not be revealed. Alignments will be revealed once one of the teams have met their win condition and the game is over. This is the most experimental aspect of this game but it has been tested and run before, town has proven that they are able to win without the information from flips the last time this was done!
If all three mafia are not eliminated during their cell phases the game will continue onward with day phases where everyone can post together and night phases where mafia may kill one townie of their choosing. Mafia will not have a quicktopic chat until after the cell phases are complete and if there are two or three mafia left standing.
There is another surprise element to the game that will be introduced when the game begins.
How I randed it
There is a neighborizer prize for the individual whose monster I like the most. This is chosen before both the cell assignments and the alignment rands. The alignments are purely randed per cell, but I have taken playstyle aggressiveness into consideration for the first cell due to the nature of having nothing to go off. Cells 2 and 3 were purely randed with the rest of the playerlist.
FAQ
Does mafia have a chat? They know who each other are but do not have a chat until the end of Room 3 should either 2 or 3 of them have survived their phases.

Note for myself or other interested hosts who wanna see how I made ISO links on Xenforo:
Note that they need to post at least once in the thread for the link to have something to go to. The code is
After c[users]= and before & you put the username spelled/capitalized/spaced correctly
After c[thread]= and before & you put the thread ID number which can be found at the end of the url
The result will look something like https://www.belltreeforums.com/sear...&search_type=post&c[thread]=601534&order=date

Rules
Game Setup Rules:
NO POSTING DURING A WAITING ROOM PHASE YOU DO NOT BELONG TO. DO NOT LIKE ANY POSTS OTHER THAN HOST'S DURING A ROOM YOU ARE NOT IN. THESE ACTIONS COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF THE SETUP AND WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC MODKILL.
PMs:
PMs and other out-of-thread communication are NOT allowed UNLESS you are explicitly told otherwise. Any players doing so will be modkilled without warning.
Activity:
You must contribute one substantial post and one vote during your cell cycle. This means that if you only make one post, it needs to be more substantial than simply saying "I agree" or "RIP". If you post multiple times, this rule may may be less strict.
Substitutions:
This game uses substitutions. Substitutions will be made up until the end of the game.
Time Cycle and Phases:
Each waiting room will be 48 hours long. After all of the waiting room debates are over the game will assume a 48hr day/24hr night cycle until it ends.
General Mafia Rules:
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information. If it does I will have to reroll and replay your entire cell's cycle after reranding it and you will be subbed out.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like handing out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM timings to try and work out roles.
5. Posting or sharing any PM you receive from a host without permission.
6. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
7. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts. Ban evasions will be reported to mods if found out about.
8. Offering favours/items/bells outside of the game for a ingame information.
9. No hydras allowed...except for Ghost's role flavor . That means NO sharing accounts with other players or forum users.
10. Breadcrumbing the specific phrasing of your role PM. Do not compare the phrasing in your role PM to prove your alignment. You can claim the abilities you have, but you can't use the specific phrasing of your role PM.
11. Posting a false PM phrased as if you received it from the host. You can still fake roleclaim, but you cannot make it look like you are posting a PM you received from the host.
YOU MAY ONLY COPY AND PASTE TEXT FOR USE AS EVIDENCE. POSTING SCREENSHOTS OR ANY OTHER NON-TEXT EVIDENCE IS CONSIDERED CHEATING. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS EVIDENCE THAT IS PUBLICLY AVAILABLE FOR ALL PLAYERS TO CHECK (eg. post counts in a thread). IT IS BEST IF YOU CHECK WITH ME FIRST.
Cheating is not tolerated here as it ruins the game for everyone. The mods and admins here CAN take action.
Mod Font:
This is the mod colour. It is reserved for the host. Please do not use it.
Question Font:
This is the question colour. Use it to ask the host questions about the rules in public. You can also PM me.
Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything. The board software automatically merges the posts anyway.
Inappropriate posts:
Mafia games can get heated, emotional, and salty. Please keep it civil and remember that what happens in Mafia should stay in Mafia. Don't let things wash over to the rest of the forum either, it's just a game.
Play to win.
You should try your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. Clearly not playing towards your win objective will be grounds for a modkill and personal ban from me. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing. Anyone who forfeits early on in their cell will cause the cell to be rerolled and reranded, forcing other players to go through it again and you to be replaced.
This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM the host if you need to leave the game.
You have been warned.

Voting rules:
Whoever has the most amount of votes by the end of the day will be eliminated. In the case of a tie, a tie will be broken at random by the host. You must vote at least once every two days or be modkilled. Voting but not posting at all will not spare you from a modkill.
You must vote for an alive player in the game. Self voting and no elimination voting is not available in this setup. If nobody votes, a player will be chosen at random for the elimination by the host. Joke votes(ex. Voting for the host or people not playing) is tolerated. As long as it is not excessive and annoying after a while.
You vote in the following format ##VOTE: USERNAME. To unvote, simply type ##UNVOTE in the voting thread.
If you have not read all the rules, go back and do so. I will not compensate for ignorance!
