Hi everyone. Sorry about my absence lately, but I've got two very important reasons why...and they both sort of play off each other.
First, of course, is my being busy with work. No surprises there, right?
Second: I got fired from my job on Tuesday. You can read about it all in my thread on Brewster's Cafe, but here are the details:
When I was first hired, they didn't have me take a drug test. I thought that was odd, since they pretty much do that everywhere these days. Not long after I got hired, I started catching numerous shoplifters, including three on the same day--and not once did the store call the police. A few weeks ago, I was apparently several dollars short on my register, which caused them to write me up. As such, I started counting the money extra carefully. But ultimately, I was called back to the back after my shift Tuesday, and the store manager informed me that I was $40 over in my register (like two $20 bills that I failed to give back), which resulted in automatic termination for me. I KNOW I counted the money, and counted it well.
My theory is that someone in the store (I don't know who) just didn't want me around. I'm not upset because I lost the job, I'm mainly upset because I was fired. It's forever in my record, and now it's going to be even harder to get a job. I've been very depressed for the past two days, and the fact that I got my separation notice in the mail today sure didn't help things.
Yes, I do plan to continue blogging on my town, but first I need to get some things in order. I don't think I'll be catching up on days, though--but to be fair, nothing has happened. Until then, feel free to leave any comments of encouragement or a pick-me-up: God knows I need it. :'(
Also, has anyone been through a similar situation? Have you been fired from a job? Fired unfairly? Comment if you'd like to talk about it.
