Alolan_Apples
“Assorted” Collector
I remembered back when I first joined TBT, collectibles were something users have taken a big deal out of them, and I'm not alone when it comes to this collectible craze. The collectible I wanted the most was the chocolate cake. But the problem is, they sell out too fast and they are overpriced if you want to buy them from other users. Not only that, but they are non-negotiable. The only way to buy them is by saving up TBT Bells. Although I never even broke the 2,000 TBT barrier, I was able to get one through the restocks for its shop price. Now I don't even need to save my TBT for that anymore. There are other collectibles I am interested into getting.
However:
Ever since the introduction of the balloon collectibles and that crazy "10" collectible that I only saw in stores for 11 days, I had a change in plans on what to collect. This was especially true after I got the chocolate cake on my own. I only wanted to hold ten collectibles as long as I'm on this site. Here's what my plan included:
- 10 collectible. This was a limited time collectible, and it will never come back once it left the stores. It cannot even be gifted. I had to get this because I don't want to miss out on limited time collectibles as this represents that I was here on TBT's 10th anniversary.
- Bell Tree Fair 2014 Patch. Another collectible to represent what time I was on this site. I decided that 2014 is the only year I'll be participating in the TBT Fair unless if the red and yellow balloons are introduced. I had to get this patch as well.
- blue balloon. I always loved balloons since I was little. I see more value in balloons than in feathers and pinwheels. My love for them hasn't changed as I grew up and blue is now my favorite color.
- green balloon. Similar to what I said about the blue balloon, but I had to get both of them. Besides, green was my favorite color for a very long time.
- chocolate cake. We already know about this when you talk about me.
- February birthstone. My birthday is February 13th, and I like to own symbol collectibles related to my birthday.
- September birthstone. Now the longest held collectible by me. This is more of a registration stone rather than a birthstone since I joined on September 9th.
- October birthstone. For Mayor Kaylee, who's birthday is October 1st.
- November birthstone. For Jenny, who's birthday is November 6th.
- December birthstone. For Penny, who's birthday is December 5th.
I decided not to collect any other collectible besides these, but I changed my mind. Originally, I wasn't going to get the January birthstone since it has nothing to do with me or my characters, but I decided to actually get it. Right now, it's on display so I can have 10 items on display, but when the February birthstone comes out, this birthstone will be hidden in my inventory. I got the January birthstone because I don't want to miss out on limited time collectibles unless if they don't look cool enough. So yeah, I plan on getting on all 12 birthstones. At the same time, I'll save up to buy a cake older than September 1st and a set of TBT Beach Party collectibles. In this case, I will have 20 collectibles and I can use half of them.
Here are the other collectibles on this site, and I'll explain why I'm not getting them:
Fruits - I'm not collecting fruits until the store starts releasing apples. When they do, I'll try collecting all five fruits. I like it in the order of apple, orange, pear, peach, and cherry.
Feathers - now this is something I don't mind getting. I can consider collection to be complete if I get the red, green, yellow, and blue. I don't need the purple, pink, or white feathers. But if I want to balance out the number of collectibles, I should get a pinwheel. However, getting all five of these quick or even before the next TBT Fair sounds very unrealistic. According to Lassy's guide of median prices, the sum should be 32,000 TBT. To get up to that point, it's going to take a long time. First of all, selling in-game Bells for this is impractical now. Even at a low exchange rate (such as 1 million per 100 TBT), I have to save up to 320 million in-game Bells, which is way out of my bounds. The quickest way to make the big bells in-game is by duping crowns, powersaving, or scamming, all of which I find highly dishonest and are bad ways to make that much. I won't even try doing any of these. I don't have anything to sell for more in-game Bells. Almost everybody should have the orderable furniture they want, I don't want GracieGrace, and getting other items to sell will take up a lot of time to get full sets. Turnips may be the quickest way to make the big bells alone, but it depends on luck. Someone made a hate thread against Reese on GameFAQs because her turnip prices were ridiculously low the entire week. So I'm not doing turnips. And beetle-farming/shark-harvesting is too slow to get a million Bells. It takes a while for rare fish and insects to spawn, and the maximum I can make in one island trip is 600,000 Bells on all but one ordinance. Not to mention, but the current exchange rate is 10 million per 100 TBT. Now, in order to get the 32K TBT, I have to save up to 3.2 billion Bells, which is virtually inpossible to get now. So selling in-game Bells is out of the question. Also, I try looking for rare in-game items to sell for TBT Bells, but people rather make in-game Bells for TBT Bells. I tried selling blue roses for TBT Bells too, but they only make IG Bells rather than TBT. So basically, IG transactions for TBT Bells are not practical at all. For other ways, I cannot do. I don't play Pokemon. I don't play Smash Bros. In fact, I don't even play any game other than AC that people made TBT transactions with. And finally, when it comes to art, signature making, or avatars, I can't do any of that. I'm not a GFX artist, and I do bad at art. As a result of all of these, saving up to 32,000 TBT is virtually impossible, which means the feathers and pinwheel collectible will not be collected at all (unless if people are nice enough to give me free ones, but that's more unlikeky going to happen).
Candies - like I mentioned in my profile information, I am not collecting candies. I think the way how they stocked them is unfair. It's not the uneven prices. It's the uneven stock each had. And they don't look that good, even the blue candy. I won't be collecting them, unless if the admins start releasing the cupcake collectible, which is more unlikely going to happen. That's right! The cupcake collectible is a suggestion I have for the site, and I hope to own one. Until I get the collectible, I'm not getting the candies.
Eggs - same with the candies when I talk about mentioning in my profile, I am not collecting eggs. And I am not huge onto Pokemon or Mario. The current egg patterns do not appeal to me.
Letters - these are the last collectibles I would ever try to own. I have no interest into these collectibles. It's a long story.
Other - other collectibles, such as the rainbow feather, green pinwheel, and Pokeball may look very nice and appealing, but they are too hard to get. I can care less for these.
If I get all 20 or 25 collectibles I plan on getting, and if I still have a lot of TBT left over, I may use it for other purposes.
