This is a pretty ironic thread all things considered, but I’ve only seen these games mentioned around once or twice by users before and never again, so I got to know. Are these games on the Switch any good? Believe it or not I haven’t played the first one that released in 2018 or the second one that released in March of this year. I like fighting games (like Super Smash Brothers), but I‘m not sure if I would enjoy this or not. I guess my question is, if I’m going to purchase one, do I buy the first or second? Does it matter? Is the combat and gameplay any good? I can kind of tell what each is based on just by looking at the cover art for them, but other than that I don‘t know much about these games. I’ve pretty much beat all my recent games and want to experience something new. If you’ve played either of these games any answers to my questions would be very much appreciated. ^^

I have the first, and it's pretty good for a starter.
I dont have One's Justice 2 but it's a direct continuation of One's Justice.
OJ1 is s2-23 and OJ2 is s4.
One's Justice 1 is probably better to get used to the controls and stuff.

I've got the first and I liked it a lot as long as I had friends to play with! The story mode was done a bit weirdly but it was a lot of fun for a fighting game and the customizing options were cute! It was alao just great to play as the gang of characters we all know and love. I'm a Tomura... Tomura. Well, Tomura main, ahaha, and I love how they translated his powers to the game. Saving up to buy the second one, actually! I'd say it's worth it! As to second or first... I suppose it depends on which seasons you prefer? And also, if you care about continuation. I assume the second has a more active online community! But if you do get it, I would love to fight!

Based on what you guys have said I’ve decided I’ll be getting the first one. Makes more sense to start the series with the first game and I was mainly just curious if others enjoyed them or not. Also, I’d love to fight both of you in the game once I’ve played it for a bit. Thanks for helping me decide! ^^

Do not buy the first one. The second is pretty much a big improvement to it to the point the first feels inferior. It has more characters, modes, gameplay changes, etc. With that being said, I actually haven't touched my copy of the second much yet. The story is pretty much a rehash of the anime with some side things so I found it pretty boring since I just watched most of the anime. That's not a big deal though since for most fighter games the story usually is not exciting anyways. In terms of gameplay, it's got a lot of diversity and is different from your typical fighting game. I think they did a good job in not making characters with ranged attacks spammable as well as guarding too much. I just haven't fallen super in love and attached to it. It's a fun time. I regret dropping $60 on it though so soon. I should have waited for it to get down to like $40.
Ahhh... wish I had known this sooner to be honest. Well from what I’ve played of the first one so far I’ve enjoyed it. I do plan on getting the second one at some point, but that probably won’t be for awhile now. Regardless though, thank you for the input.

I have both part 1 and part 2 and both games are beat, but I didn’t play it much after that. I bought the collector’s edition of the second game because I’m a nerd

xD GET HIMOmg, so I‘ve been doing the missions in order because they’re good training, and I was doing terrible at the Villain map missions, but look how I just cheesed the final boss when I won.

Geez, I have NOT played this game in awhile. I started doing the villain missions again because I wanted 100% completion or something, and I got stuck on the 30 seconds to defeat a Nomu using a plus ultra mission. Well, tonight I finally loaded up the game again and behold, I was able to complete it. Turns out you can’t really unleash Deku Shoot Style’s plus ultra move if the enemy is backed against a wall, as more than likely it will miss. Once I figured this out, I laid the smackdown on the Nomu and defeated it.
Going to be playing this again for awhile and try to beat all of the missions that are left with 100% completion before season five of My Hero Academia premieres on March 27th. I have no idea how long the rest of them are going to take me, but we’ll see how this goes.

Wow. It's been a while since anyone posted on this thread. Also, I haven't played One's Justice in AGES either. But I DO remember how funny it was to have Kaminari against Kaminari in one of those clash attacks or whatever they were called when you both use the move where it makes an electric force field around him. Also I do remember Shoot Style being a tad bit OP, but it's probably just me spamming the move where it does a sliding kick. Also, Hi!

Anyway, I’ve taken a break from the missions for now. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish them all by a week from now, so I decided I’ll just take more time finishing them. When I DO finish them, however, I am definitely going to be buying the second game.
