My issues with the Festivale Event Buildup

Okay before I start I just wanted to say that I like the items in the event, I see what they were going for and I do like the reactions that they gave us. However there is issues I have with this event and even though we are like 10 days away from it its the buildup I have an issue with.

When I found out there was no DIYS for these items that was last straw. I mean with past events focusing on crafting you would think they would make all these Festivale items craftable but its NOT! What blows my mind is how you can only get them on the event itself and not from buying it through your catalog. I mean would it make more sense just to find all the feathers, give it to Pave, and instead of giving you the items he gives a DIY to make them? I mean it just doesn't make sense to me. When the Festivale event is over if you miss it you have no choice but to Time Travel back to the event just to get the items. This information I found out when some people were able to get into the event by hacking.

So it seems like trading with other people is the ONLY way to get different variants. Its just like in Toy Day when we were getting the Toy items but in reality when we got to the event you still get different variants on the event itself. So whats the point?

When I saw the information for the event I was so mad and disappointed. Lets be honest if we I mean compare it to Halloween Buildup for the Event last yearit was done SO MUCH better. You were able to buy all the colors of the Spooky Items at your shop, you can use your pumpkins to customize them since you grow them, and of course you get Spooky DIYs from your villagers crafting so you can make your own. It felt so good and the event itself was really awesome. However the Festivale doesn't do any of that. You're only stuck with one color variant in your shop, there is no diys for these Festivale items, and of course all of this is restricted to event only. Not giving you any build up to it.

They should've just made it to where you can catch feathers throughout the week building up to the event. I can't believe I'm saying this but at least Bunny Day (I hate myself for even saying this) lets you have enough time to catch plenty of eggs leading up to the event. What I mean is that if they were to just make the feathers float around and you catch it then that would be more better prepared. Instead they decided to let it be on the event only. I hope I'm not the only one thats feeling this way.

The sucky thing is you need rainbow feathers to customize them, and you have to make them using ALL the other feathers.

Unless Pave is going to party on your island for a week, it doesn't make much sense to have feathers fly around everywhere beyond Festivale Day.
I do agree the furniture should be diys, but I think they wanted to change it up a little bit and make it feel more exclusive to Festivale.
Good news is that you don't have to trade to get whatever color you are wanting or needing for your island. You just have to catch a bunch of feathers on Festival. I just hope the spawn rate will be appropriate. Some people, not me, like to have all sets. However I like to have items in different colors depending on the need of my island. That is probably why they decided to do the rainbow feather as a diy so you don't have to rely on spawn rate for a rainbow feather in order to get plenty of whatever rainbow furniture you are wanting/needing.
At least the furniture isn't going to take a bunch of bamboo to craft. That may have been another reason since it appears to have bamboo elements.

I agree with a lot of your points. I'm just bummed I don't really get to decorate for Festivale until the event has passed since I don't TT. And even with the items I am getting a Nook's they are all so the wrong color for my island. It's a bummer.

well not really if you are making rainbow feathers. You would just have stacked rainbow feathers to customize furniture to be rainbow. It is more time efficient just to get what you want or need from Pave on Festivale. I think it only costs one rainbow feather instead of three if you go to Pave. From what I have seen on youtube.

To be honest, I don't agree with your complaint about the event furniture being avaliable on one day...in past games every event was basically one day and all the furniture was avaliable on one day as well. It would've been nice if they had added DIYs for this one, but allowing the furniture to be purchased on the days leading up the event at all is an improvement from the past and I think is perfectly fine. But you're entitled to your complaint, I think it's valid.

I was talking about the "Variants" of the Festivale items, how you cannot buy them in your shop and you can only get different variants in the event. It was the same problem with the Toy Day event when you have all the variants of the Toy items yet in the event you still can get them even though you already have them already.

Yeah, I don't like how they handled this event either. It's very inconsistent compared to the other ones. Like I'm glad we get the furniture in advance so we can actually decorate beforehand... But because you have to buy it, you're lucky if you get at least one of each item before the event is over. You can't craft it which means you have to keep them all in storage if you want to be sure to use them next year (because who knows if they'll be back next year with the update model?). I would have preferred it if the villagers were making the diys, like Halloween, or Lord forgive me, if it were like bunny day and there were a few ways of getting recipes.
The other thing is that it sounds like it's going to be a lot harder to customise them. I'm going to try to catch enough feathers to make enough rainbow feathers to make each item the rainbow version, and to have a feather left over for me to wear, so hopefully the feathers are all very abundant on the one day we have to catch them!

totally agree with you but I am not sure that it is not DIYs, dataminers said it is not a DIY but it still sounds strange to me that the festival will be different from the others. I hope these items will be a DIYs tbh, it is easier for me that way.

I've personally never liked Festivale and have always found the furniture to be tacky. The one for New Horizons looks a little bit better, but still nothing I'd personally like to own. If they were DIYs I would have felt pressured to collect every single recipe, but since they're not I can just ignore the event all together.

Omg so glad to hear this. All of my stuff is green and I can't stand it lol
