My ps3 froze?

Right now my ps3 has just frozen
I went to quit world at war but it just froze and it will not turn off even if i hold down the button
I dont want to unplug it as it might make it worse

If it's a fat flip the power switch in the back.

And if it's frozen and will not turn off from holding the power button, you probably will need to unplug it.
