Oh it's good to have timeframe in which to expect it in. I imagine the load times will be addressed, or I hope at least. I have the game pre-loaded already, but won't be touching it until at least the first patch drops. Dragons Dogma will keep me busy until then.

After I posted that video, I already heard back that they're working hard on load time improvements too for a patch as close to launch as possible haha. Hope that turns out well! Might be separate from the other 2-3 weeks update because that's the main content patch but I'm not entirely sure.

Even cutting the load times in half would be a huge improvement. So that's good to hear.

That's like... from over 1 minute to under 10 seconds. I want to see it in my own hands first but that would be an astonishing improvement! It's worth noting that there are two more long 1 minute loads before the one in that tweet and my video too though. I suspect those might be harder to reduce down so much since they would be more of the initial loading, but we'll have to see. The one they're showing though is more important anyway as it happens at the beginning of every day leaving your house!

Also in a reply to my own tweet and that of others, Portia will be unlocking at midnight for your respective timezone on the 16th. Obviously this only applies to you if you have pre-loaded it.
The patch is also confirmed to be day 1 so no need to suffer through long load times at launch yay!

The patch is actually available right now if you have the game pre-loaded. I updated it before work this morning.

I live in the US eastern time zone and the game did NOT unlock at midnight for me. I was able to play for a short while this morning, tho. I'll play more this afternoon after I'm done with grocery shopping etc (UGH)
