Day 26. Creepy Girl ... well, that was the prompt anyway, and I didn't wanna do the typical creepy girl trope, so here's a fiery, queenly priestessly mage lady... person..

Acrylic paint on cardboard. Pretty smol btw, i wanna say 3.6" by 6.9" (9.2 cm by 17.6 cm). Very glad I bought some small detail brushes months ago, after the egg painting challenge here on TBT.

Day 27. Liminal Spaces
Watercolor and Gouache on cheap af watercolor paper that tore when I took the masking tape off

Originally meant to do Hallway as per the prompt list but I felt uninspired, so.. liminal spaces it is! Though I feel mine look a little too welcoming

The aesthetic known as a Liminal Space is a location which is a transition between two other locations, or states of being. Typically these are abandoned, and oftentimes empty - a mall at 4am or a school hallway during summer, for example. This makes it feel frozen and slightly unsettling, but also familiar to our minds.

Missed the past couple days!!

For the day 26 I chose a plant and did everything in one line to show the connection. I liked it! For day 27 I started with a watercolour of a sparkler and kind of just went from there, adding things or drawing words, sketches, and letters, anything that sparked my attention. Overall I'm so pleased with myself!

the end of October is nigh! for those of who you were able to keep up with this on a daily basis, I say congrats. I made it about halfway through but my desire to make my art as detailed/good looking as it can be led to burnout from working on art 4-7 hours per day.

regardless, this was a fun challenge. I feel like, in the two-and-a-half weeks I participated, I did improve my art style/skill. I still have a ways to go but for once I'm actually very happy with the way my art pieces have turned out! i think i would like to try this challenge (or some variation of it) again next year! ☺

I would like to thank xSuperMario64x for posting this challenge to the Bell Tree Forums. I have not done very much art at all over the past several years and I have had a very depressing time with art in general. But this challenge helped a lot, it really did. I can't believe I made it to Day 1, let alone all 31 days. I always wanted to do an Inktober challenge, made prompt lists many times but never followed through.
Anyway, hopefully I can keep my art momentum going. Thanks again!
