New and Returning Villager Tier

Petri takes the cake for me because I love that she's a snooty.

I was initially disappointed in Zoe, thinking she was very underwhelming for an anteater, but the more I look at her, the more adorable she appears to be and maybe I should have ranked her higher^^

I guess I'm the only person who's not super wowed by any of them, lol.

But given that I'm not super picky about which villagers I allow to live on my island, even the C group are ones I'd say yes to if I was going villager hunting for a specific personality.

I dislike the D group and would not take them.

I loved Sasha and Shino from the moment I saw them and Ione has really grown on me so they were immediately S tier for me! The rest comes down to how interesting I find their design as well as how visually appealing I find their design. Tbh though, I almost just got rid of D tier because C and D just felt like the same to me when it came to how much I liked the villagers. I don't like the ones in D much less than C, they just felt a tiny bit less visually interesting compared to the others.

Here's mine! There's no one in the bunch I really dislike, I don't think.

S - I will absolutely replace a dreamie for Shino. Since she's now confirmed to be peppy, it looks like I won't be getting Merry after all. I'm sorry, Merry. Our names were too similar anyway.
A - These three I would love to have in future games, and could easily see them making the dreamie list. ...Well, we'll see about Marlo. I love his design, but I question if it's really a good idea to have that kind of presence in town.
B - They're cute and I like them enough, but probably not anybody I'd keep around permanently. Out of all of these, Sasha is probably the most likely to make it to future dreamie status.
C - Pretty neutral towards these, and they could probably rise or fall in the ranking depending on what sort of interactions I have with them in the future, if any. No strong feelings at the moment though.
D - Not terribly big on these three, but I don't hate them either. Roswell and Cephalobot do have cool concepts, but I just don't think they're for me.

I didn't think Petri would be my favorite out of the bunch considering the only mice I like are Bree and arguably Penelope but here we are. I was iffy on her being snooty but with her glasses off she definitely looks like one. I like to think she loves fashion and all that other snooty stuff but she's also passionate about researching too. A nerdy snooty. I love it alot.

Marlo is a crime boss hamster who may run an underground organization... That's all I have to say to justify his placement.

Ace is one of my favorite OG's who I'm glad to see back so I'm a bit bias. He unfortunately doesn't fit anywhere on either of my islands so I probably won't have him as a permanent villager but I may let him stay for alil' bit.

I could complain that Ione is like the 5830th normal squirrel but I'm too lazy right now. That's my only complaint about her. She's perfect otherwise.

Everyone below Ione and Ace I just like their designs or think they're okay. I only have complaints for Sasha who's name and personality type I'm not a big fan of.

Quinn looks too much like a female Apollo to me. Sorry. Glad she has very supportive fans, though.

S: The only new villager I'm super drawn to is Shino. Although I am a little disappointed that she's peppy. I was hoping for Uchi. I can't say I'm surprised though. It was expected being that she's the first entry in the deer species to be a Peppy.

A: Really like Azalea's design, and for me, that's saying something because I don't generally care for the rhino species. I know she was Petunia before, but I actually really like her new name. It's cute and fresh. Not sure why I like Cephalobot... I don't really like any other robots but Cephalobot is kinda cool. I like Tiansheng, although it would've been cool to get a Smug Monkey. And I like the scientist theme of Petri as well as the fact that she's snooty. When I first saw her I initially thought Male Lazy, so it's a pleasant surprise that she's female.

B: I don't hate any of their designs, they're just so-so in my opinion. To me, Ione looks like they were trying to replace Marshall's popularity on some level. Not that it's a bad thing, I like Marshall. It's just the vibe I get.

C: I don't care for their designs, but I can see why they appeal to some people.

D: None of these villagers are D-tier worthy in my opinion. Though if I had to pick, my least favorite is probably Quinn or Ace. Not a huge fan of Birds or Eagles.

Tier lists are super fun. It actually wasn't too hard for me to make this one... Although my villager preferences make me feel very "basic" since I love the stereotypical cute villagers, but maybe my picks outside of the top tier will surprise people?

I typically don't do these tier lists for Animal Crossing, but I was able to put together something for it this time:

Even if I do like some more than others, there really isn't a bad villager in the mix of new/returning villagers, which I'm happy to see.

Sasha might be my favourite of the set because he's adorable and there aren't any male rabbits yet that I really love as opposed to there being several female rabbits among my favourites already, so maybe Sasha will make his way in there. (Plus it's really cool that he's the first cute-themed male villager in PC!) Ione was be the one I was most excited for but her being normal dampens my enthusiasm for her - normals tend to be the most boring for me, and I haven't yet found a normal in NH that I've really wanted to keep. That being said, I'd love for Ione to break that trend because she's really cute and I love space stuff. I also love her in the astro dress!

Azalea, Zoe, and Rio were some of the villagers I wanted to return so they're nice to see. Shino looks cool too although I wish she had been anything but peppy - I actually like the peppy personality but Shino just doesn't resemble that for me. Maybe that'll change later on though; I would be very happy to get any of those four!

Marlo has an interesting design, Frett looks cool, and Chabwick looks surprisingly cuter than I thought he would. I wasn't interested in him from his DnMe+ artwork, but now he's growing on me. I'd be happy to have any of these move in as well.

I don't dislike anyone in C tier, but I don't know if I'd invite any of them. Quinn looks cool and very uchi-ish; I think it's a good design but not one I'm super enthusiastic about. Petri is interesting and I love the idea of a snooty scientist villager, but I'm just not really a fan of her design. Robot octopus is a cool idea with lots of potential but I don't think they really did much with Cephalobot's design; I think they could have made him a lot more interesting than they did. Tiansheng just reminds me of Flip, and they even have the same personality.

Faith was one I wanted to return until I saw her NH design and it just looks like she cut off someone else's face and wears it herself. I guess I never really paid attention to the difference in her colour scheme on her e-reader card or just figured she was like Gabi in which her head was one colour and her body was another (as opposed to only part of her head). And somehow I've apparently never looked up in-game images of Faith before (which surprises me because I've probably done that for almost every other villager) because there's a lot of them in GC where it looks like she's stuck in a koala costume or something. I have no one to blame but myself for being surprised but I'm still disappointed. :P Roswell has a cool design but I don't like the slits for eyes, and I don't like Ace's tiny eyes, either - he's my least favourite of the batch mostly because of those eyes, but also because out of all the jocks that they could have brought back (Kit!!) they chose to bring a fifth jock bird instead.

- I just... really love Marlo. I'm absolutely making him a permanent resident whenever I get a hold of him.
A - I really like these two! Could've gone as far to say I love them, if Marlo didn't exist haha.
B - I like these, I think their designs are neat and wouldn't mind moving them in temporarily if I see them.
C - They're cool, I just feel pretty neutral about them. Would move them in, but not in any particular rush to do so.
