Bells

Hi, I’ve only been playing about a week, I have new neighbours, the museum and the upgraded shop and due to have the resident services upgraded tomorrow but Tom nook has no more advice to give and my island seems stuck in autumn, is this normal or am I glitches
TIA

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere it should still be Autumn. The first reall snow that sticks will not happen until december 11th. So we have to wait till then for the season to change. Though you might get a few snow flurries before then. Just nothing that will stick.

This is normal, you hit a point in week one where you're done and just waiting for some of the week 2 tasks to come in. Now's some free time for crafting and begining to decorate how you like.
The autumn grass/tree colours are around for another 5-6 days I believe. The seasons and colours don't change in synch with the months, they're all different lengths of time.

The events that are happening are perfectly normal. Snow isn’t here until December 11th, which brings new recipes and stuff with it.

Plus Tom Nook will have more tasks for you when the resident services is built, so it seems totally fine. :)!

Thank you so much, at the moment I’m making as much bells as possible to expand etc but am constantly catching the same fish/bugs etc, is that normal to start with?
TIA

Some critters require you to catch a certain number of that type of critter before the other ones appear. You can track your progress on how many of each type you caught so far in your nook miles achievement. You need catch at least a 100 of a type before you unlock all them. For example, the stringfish only appears after you catch 100 fishes.

Also to add to that, it's December which is a pretty limiting time for collecting. (if you're having Winter in northern hemisphere)
If you're in Southern then next month is the best time for collecting though.

I also recommend planting an orchard to start with, since you won’t have much to decorate with it’s a good way to start earning bells

Why call it December? Just call it Pond Smelt Month

Ah, so there is a good reason for that. December marks the start of Pond Smelt month. It's actually longer than that, so long ago they decided to split Pond Smelt month into 3 roughly equal parts which they named December, January and February.

In the northern hemisphere, everyone should be having an all day snow storm on December 10, and then on December 11th, we will all have snow on the ground until mid February.

If Tom Nook has no advice for you, then that just means there's nothing left in the tutorial for him to teach you. It's his way of saying you're on your own for now... Don't worry though, he will have 1 more major task for you once the Town Hall is built.

Now you'll want to focus on development of the town. Of course, you'll need to town hall before you can begin doing bridges and inclines...and fences IIRC. If you haven't already, you should focus on unlocking Abel Sisters and the museum.
