New items from remodeling?

So... I went to remodel Cherry's house because she needed a second room. And K.K. Fusion popped up as a new item. She definitely didn't give it to me during the first round, and none of the other items she gave me are listed. Has anyone else had something like this happen? I thought you could only get new stuff from new villagers.

I never noticed this, I'll have to pay attention to the next house I remodel.
