New Year, New Horizons!
It?s almost a New Year with New Horizons! The first real Animal Crossing game in more than seven years is finally releasing in the new year and it's time we start getting hyped about the possibilities awaiting us.
How It Works
Join in the New Horizons hype by filling out the questionnaire included below and drawing a New Horizons island map layout! In the questionnaire, you'll answer a number of questions about your future New Horizons experience and plans. And in the drawing, you'll create a map of your dream New Horizons island including river layout, house placement, and more!
Just follow the directions in each section below and include both parts in a post within this thread -- have fun!
Part 1: Questionnaire
First, copy/paste this code and fill out the questions after the [B][/B] tags:
Code:
[PLAIN][B]What will you name your new island?[/B]
[B]What will you name your new character?[/B]
[B]What villager do you want on your new island most?[/B]
[B]What native fruit do you want on your new island?[/B]
[B]Do you think you will time travel in New Horizons? Why or why not, and when if yes?[/B]
[B]What are you most excited to do in New Horizons?[/B]
[B]Will you buy a physical copy, a digital copy, or even both?[/B]
[B]Will you buy a special edition Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch system if there is one? What kind of design would you like to see?[/B]
[B]How long do you think you'll play New Horizons on a daily basis?[/B] [/PLAIN]
Obviously we understand that you probably won't have 'firm' answers for many of these questions and that's okay. Even if the question is worded as an absolute, just share with us some of your possible ideas or what you think you might do if you're not sure! It's all just for fun and to get us thinking about New Horizons coming out in the new year, there's really no wrong answers here as long as you're showing an effort.
Part 2: Island Map Drawing
After you've completed the questionnaire, take the next step by completing a simple drawing of your dream island map for New Horizons! It should be drawn in the same point of view as the in-game map, so the island map in New Horizons from E3 2019 has been included as a basic reference below. Of course, you're welcome to draw in a different style, but the basic layout of the island should remain intact.
Specifically, your island map drawing needs to have these basic layout elements to be accepted:
- Island surrounded by water
- Rocks at the top
- Beach on left, bottom, and right sides
- River flowing from top to bottom
- At least one Pond
- Bridges
- Player Tent or House
- At least three Villager Tents or Houses
- Nook Resident Services*
- Dodo Airlines Dock**
**This is the circle with the airline icon at the very bottom. Feel free to draw this nicer than the map above, and place it anywhere on the beach you want!
Of course, you can feel free to go wild and do much more if you feel like doing so, including aspects of New Horizons we don't even know about yet! These are just the basic requirements to compose an acceptable map.
How to Submit
Submit your entry by posting in this thread with the filled out questionnaire and completed island map drawing in a single post.
The obvious rules apply: One entry per person, write your own and don't copy or steal other people's questionnaire/drawing. Please do put some effort into your entry. If we feel your entry lacks effort, or has just been submitted as a joke, then it won't be accepted.
Entries are due on Saturday, January 4th at 4:00 PM EST.
