Tom Nook's Shop upgrades:
First store: Nook's cranny (you get this when you first play the game)
Second store: Nook `N Go (Spend 25,000 Bells at his store and he will upgrade to this)
Third store: Nookway ( Spend 90,000 Bells at his store)
Fourth (and Final) store: Nookington's ( Someone will have to buy something at Nook's store wirelessly (Nintendo Wi-fi Connection), and you have to spend 240,000 Bells at his store.) Nookington's is also two stories tall, and there is a barber shop run by Harriet inside.

Bank account rewards
You can go to The Post Office inside of The Town Hall, and access your savings account, and either withdraw money you've already put in there, or deposit money.
There are gifts for depositing certain amounts of money. I know these are ridiculous.. but..

Golden Items
Yes, the golden items have returned.
Golden rod: Catch every type of fish. The golden rod's feature is that it increases the "reel time" time by five seconds.
Golden net: Catch every type of bug in the game. The golden net's feature is that it is twice the size of a normal net, making bug-catching easier.
Golden shovel: Bury a shovel in the ground and leave it there for a full day. (but make sure you have an extra shovel so you can dig it up) The feature is that you can grow money trees by planting money bags, and in about a week, it will reach maturity.
Golden can: If you keep your environment perfect for 16 days in a row, Pelly or Phyllis will give you the golden can.
Golden Axe: If you meet up with the philosopher Pascal ( red guy) at the beach, he will trade you the golden axe for a scallop seashell. The golden axe doesn't break like a normal axe.
