Motion controls! even the people playing mario cart were using the thumb-stick to steer. I really hope they'll reveal that functionality later but so far no motion controls have been used and I'm starting to worry slightly cuz i loved that part of the wii and wii u.

Tbh I hope they ditch that stuff... I never got the thing and it was pretty much a fad to me.. what's wrong with some good ol' button mashing?

Uhm I like my Mario Kart motion controls thanks

Pls come back motion controls

Mario Kart was the only motion controlled thing that really worked right. Try playing some Mario Party minigames. The controls were wonky motion controls. Don't even get me started on Sonic and the Secret Rings minigames motion controls, they were even worse.

If the Nintendo Switch wants to succeed, they need to produce content and stop with just gimmicks. Gimmicks are good alongside content but without content, they are gonna fail. I think Nintendo forgets that there are other gaming console brands out there that they need to compete with. Back in the day, Nintendo was king. But now with Sony and Microsoft doing well, they need to pull up their pants and create some solid games and consoles in order to stay. People like my brother and I, as much as we love Nintendo's franchises are beginning to catch onto the lackluster games with gimmick thing Nintendo has been doing for the past few years. They need to step up their game or they will lose their place.

Eh, I like button smashing more! I think it gives me a bit more control, and I never really cared for the motion feature on my Wii. (never owned a Wii U, though)

Motion controls was a neat concept, but I was never any good at it anyways so I won't miss it if isn't included in the Nintendo Switch.

I figured as much when they ditched motion controls for Mario and Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. I mean they had them for every game up until this one. I'm a little disappointed since there are certain games where motion controls can be fun. Not really a deal breaker if they don't include them though. The most important feature to me is that they are still incorporating local play with friends and it looks like they are.

I do not like motion controls in video games. The only game I would play with motion controls is Little Big Planet 2 (which is on the PS3, but mainly because of their Move Pack). Basically, motion controls, at least forced motion controls, are bad for video games.

I'm kinda glad that motion controls wouldn't exist on the Nintendo Switch. And even if they do, at least I wouldn't be required to use them.

But is there going to be a touchscreen for this console?

I simply play as I can with whatever ends up being my preference to play the game. I enjoy the motion controllers in most game. Mario kart Wii, Mario party series, Rayman Raving Rabids. It's kind of just a matter of practice I suppose. It was amazing for me. But I guess like Sonic Zero gravity and Sonic Free Riders, let's just say it is bad. Or so how I see the topic. but agree to disagree, right?

Yes. I went there. Sonic Free Rider's motion detection was good for me once I figure out how it works. Unfortunately, I never owned an Xbox 360 kinect, so I always played it on Best Buy whenever I had the chance. People who hated the motion sensors stared asking me how I got even higher than 5th place. I just said "Practice? Used to it?" They though I was lying. XD
