So I see that sometimes people have this as one of their town rules, can anyone explain why?
I just want to know why this is some people's rule. :)

Some people might not want to hear their villagers talking about another player or they might think that other players talking to their villagers might make them more likely to move out. Or it could be they just want to prevent anyone from taking a villager that is in boxes.

I don't really like villagers talking about other players (I want everything to be about ME gosh darnit! lol), but not enough to make a rule about it.

You could accidentally talk to that person's favorite villager and that villager could move to your town.

They probably care that much about their villagers.

Talking to villagers won't make them consider moving out unless that villager is in boxes. The only thing that will effect you is the fact that your villagers may talk about whoever talked to them months and months later every now and then. It's also one of the rules and guidelines on TBT so they may be referring to that and expect you to follow it in their town.

They go on and on about them.
Like if they move directly in to your town from another.

The whole talking to them makes them more willing to come to your town is not true. One of my villagers moved to one of my friend's town whom I visited quite often but they hadn't visited me before getting that villager.

It seriously takes forever for them to stop talking about someone that visited forever ago.
I would never make that a rule because I don't care that much but some people do.

I had a villager move from another town and it's all they talk about! Gets quite annoying. I can see why people make it a rule but like other people, i don't make a rule out of it.

I don't really mind my villagers talking about other players. It makes me laugh to see which of my friends they think is a bell hoarder or a flower fan lol. The rule could also be in place if you're trading with someone because they have other trades or things to do so want the transaction to be fast and efficient, so stop you from talking to their villagers to just make it quick and simple. If you have a lot of trades, the last thing you want is waiting ten minutes for someone to talk to all of your villagers.

I dont like visiting towns with that rule because I like talking to foreign villagers Ive never met. In my opinion, that rule is stupid and I use it only for villagers that are in boxes,

The only reason you would get a villager from another town is if that villager has been voided from that town (was in boxes, nobody convinced them to move to their town, villager goes to the void). So if you visit their town shortly after that happens you may get a new 10th spot villager. You don't have to talk to them.

I actually love when my villagers talk about people. XD It's fun to be able to say "Hey, Iggly was talking about you today!" It's cute.

As long as my guests don't steal my hybrids or run around like a maniac I don't care what they do.
Most of my villagers were given to me by other people so they talk about their past town a lot.
Hopefully they stop soon...although they do look awfully precious when they sing the old town tune.

I do NOT understand this rule. Unless the villager is boxed up and waiting on an agreed recipient, I love for my villagers to chat up all the visitors! Why ever not? It's part of the GAME.

I think not allowing people to talk to your villagers is going a little overboard... Like they must really be extremely nervous when Wi-fi'ing. lol ;-;

This rule made a lot of sense in the previous games where villagers could literally just pack up and leave instantly if someone spoke to them. But t's pretty silly now though since they will ask you a good week or so before moving. Not to mention, I'm not even sure if it affects anything now. But regardless of whether it does or not, you have plenty of time to block them from moving so it doesn't even matter.

I wouldn't bother to visit a town with rules like that...to each their own!
