Personally, I am very happy that Nook miles are being utilized and the player is being rewarded for their accomplishments and hard work (yes, NMTs are a part of that too, but you can't exploit yourself). While NMTs are still valuable to a degree, they will not get you on that boat with Kapp'n and all the other bells and whistles that come with this drop.
When NH came out I was not prepared for the NMT insanity... the appetite for the NMTs was crazy/scary and became a currency for everything! I consider myself a seasoned AC player and have never witnessed something like that before. I was gone from the game for like two days in March of 2020 and the average person was buying villagers for 500+ NMTs (where/how did they get that many lol). It was a lot to take in. Anyhow, I digress.
I feel 2.0 is a celebration of your achievements. So, congratulations to everyone who played for a long time, and for those who grinded all those Nook miles. I am absolutely more relaxed with this update and especially ecstatic that HHP (that is my zen therapy) and the amiibos are being released at the same time! I hope everyone is feeling a bit more relaxed as well, feeling no pressure and can play at their own pace!
