i have 361 nook points. i obviously spent more then 25k and ive sold alot more then that. so why isnt nooks upgrading? does somebody need to buy something from nooks?

There's a billion threads on this, nobody knows how it works, people are assuming it's just completely random.

Yep, nobody knows how exactly you can upgrade to the next version of nooks. But, we do know we can. Somehow.

So I'm afraid you'll have to wait until a proper guide is created, or somebody finds out the secret. =D

Seriously... someone needs to find the Official Nintendo guide so we can figure this out...

You need to pay off your 120,000 dollar DEBT im prety sure.. PS i know some guy who already has an upgraded nook.. i got a slingshot from him.. but anyway.. yeah... i think you have t pay off debt

I haven't paid off that debt and mine is upgrading today :p

It might be slightly arbitrary in my opinion.

According to the guide:

"After you spend 25,000 Bells with Tom Nook, he closes his doors for a day to renovate his shop into a bigger convenience store that sports a better selection of goods and stays open for longer hours."

Unlike the previous two games, it seems selling items to Nook doesn't count towards the amount.

But some people have bought that much in one day to try and force an upgrade... some got the upgrade before they bought much

How do I know how much money I've spent on Nook?
I have 300 points, some being visitor points. I'm guessing I need to spend a bit more?

A question for those who have upgraded, how many people are playing? (How many characters have you created) I only have one but reabodeP says she has more than one person. (In her posts she states "We have bought..." and she has upgraded)

I really don't think you would need more than one person though. : |

ive seen a video of cf on youtube and the guy had the first house upgrade i think (19k) and nook n go so i think tom nook upgrading does take 25k payement, but after that it is completely random

I have the third house upgrade and Nook's cranny. : (
the third already? wow you must be fishing or bug catching like crazy but like i said before i think the upgrade is completely random but maybe selling stuff takes away from his upgrade fund....DX

Unless there's some really rare stuff in there, the average amount I usually see stuff for sale at Nook's is usually around the 6-8k range, at least.

Either way, though, I wouldn't doubt it if they got the upgrade beforehand. I dunno, this is coming from the only guide out there right now.

... though to be fair, this guide claimed manta rays weren't out right now, and yet they are.

Oh Nintendo Power Strat Guide, how I miss thee...
