• Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.

Odd Things your Dog or pet does.

It's very unsettling when they stare at you while you eat. My corgi engages in "frapping". Frantic, random acts of play it stands for. Look it up on youtube- corgi frapping! lol

My cat hates eating out of bowls or off of plates. She takes whatever the food is in out with her paw and then eats it off the floor. She'll take her cat food out of her bowl piece by piece until she's satisfied.

I'm pretty sure most cats do that??

Weell My cat and dog are weird lil' ****s lmao

My cat, Link-
1: He loves a lot of human food: Dairy, sweets, savory foods, chips, a lot. When I'm eating just about anything he'll come up to me and I'll give him a little piece.
Oh yeah, once he ate an entire Dorito
YEAH
2: When he wants food and his bowl is empty he'll just HOLLER! MREOW! MEREOW! MREOW! And if it's the middle of the night its even worse lol.
3: With every single dig we've had, Link would fight/play with them, including my current 40-pound Pitbull Luna
5: Speaking of above, sometimes he'll get tired of her bugging him and will tackle her and bite her neck like a group of lions does to their prey
6: He loves the booty scratching

On to my crazy Pitbull, Luna
1: She's only 2, so she still has seperation anxiety, but its preetty bad.
2: She has SO MUCH SKIN. Like anywhere you can just grab a handfull of scruff and it doesn't bother her
3: Actually no features I can really think of that make her weird. Just the way she acts and stuff

My dog does this thing when he wakes up where first he stretches out and lays as flat as possible while making this silly strained face cause he's stretching out then he gets up, shakes, and proceeded to rub all over the carpet like getting his itchies out it's super cute he like walks and rubs into the carpet with his side then scootches around with his back on the carpet swinging his leggies around. It's very very cute.

He also gets really needy and makes this humming whine noise and will come and grab your hand with his paw and nails like "give me attention now please." also if you're sitting somewhere with your hand hanging off he'll come and put his head in your hand for pets. He's both really annoying and really cute.

ahhh my dog did the same! It's was so fun to tease him because of it - I would pet him and then deliberately just stop for him to nudge my hand <3

one of my budgies likes to bathe in her food and she scatters it everywhere, what a waste!

When my dog's face is itchy, he likes to rub himself face first into the couch or on people's legs.

My cat splashes his water bowl and moves it around for no clear reason.

My mom's cat eats fruit and likes licking and eating the inside of cucumbers. He loves blueberries but doesn't like citrus or banana.

My other cat lies on your feet and always has his butt sticking up on your leg. It's really weird.

my new baby hamster always pee on my hands when im handling him. not always tho but when hes nervous.

One of our cats ALWAYS has to dip her paw and lick it before drinking out of anything, it's really cute but then we get little wet kitty prints everywhere.

I don't own a pet but I see some dogs like every day BC of a class I take so I'll talk about them. I love how dogs know when you're talking, like they sorta just listen to you when you say something, it's kinda amazing. I like talking to dogs , although it sounds weird, but just talking to them is relaxing. And there's another dog where if he needs to stretch out, he'll lay his head down on the floor and stretch out his paws in front of him, and then he'd go into a doggy yoga pose with his back legs completely straight. I'm pretty sure other dogs also do this but it's literally like a yoga pose.

My dogs make me laugh all the time....the one just has such human like tendencies. She will be sitting there while I'm having a conversation and her head will be going back and forth looking at us both each time we talk, like she could understand what's being said.
She sleeps on the sofa at night and when I'm sitting there before going to bed she is just pacing round me and pushing her head my my leg as if she wants me to get off her bed.
She also seems to be unable to hold her head up for long periods (more than 60 seconds) everywhere she goes she rests her head, usually next to somebody so she can try to get attention.
Really make me laugh....

Also my snake asks to come out, usually at night right when I'm leaving to work, I'll get up to get dressed and he'll come poking out of his hide like "yes mom is it out time now please?" it breaks my heart every day cause I have to boop him and tell him tomorrow. =[ Poor baby. He also doesn't know how to eat, I mean he eats, but he would definitely die in the wild. We have to hit him in the face with the mouse for him to strike it. XD One time I put the mouse in his tank and he looked like the complete opposite way, like no you viscous killing machine it's behind you...

Pets are the best they ask nothing and give so much. my friend has 2 dogs who sit and stare at themselves kinda creepy.

I was eatting a peanut strawberry jam sandwich and i guuess got some peanut butter on my wii u game pad so my dog has spent last
five mins trying to lick it clean...silly dogs.

Our 3 legged 10 year old rescue cat (grrrr abusive pet owners..) has a slew of odd habits and behaviours. Given how bad her life was before my partner adopted her (without noticing she had 3 legs and was still bandaged from the surgery to remove the crushed limb, as she was that excitable and pleased to see a person she took a shine to)... we indulge her within some fairly generous boundaries.

Despite having only 3 limbs she is as fast as any 4 legged cat, a fact she uses and abuses for no end of sympathy and pats from visitors. She puts on an *amazing* show, limps and lurches as though about to collapse, looking so mournful people often tear up seeing her if we haven't warned them.

.. and then she'll snap out of it and race off at top speed. It's like she puts on the show until all of a sudden she's had enough and she'll resume her normal life. It's hilarious to watch, she'll do this for all new (to her) people and also for returning people. Very occasionally she'll do this for just us, but she's not able to keep the sham going for long.. possibly because we're laughing our heads off at her antics!

She's basically an eternal kitty, full of beans and always ready to launch onto a lap, or ipad, or window sill.

My partner must pick her up everytime he enters the house, and hold her and pat her for a few minutes. She'll try climbing him like he's a tree, or me if I'm foolish enough to stand between him and the kitty. Even just checking the mail or taking out rubbish. She expects to welcome him home again each and every time. No exceptions.

idk if its odd or a normal thing but my golden retriever likes to get in the tub full of water and just sits there, waiting for you to give her a bathe or just pet her XD also if you're petting her and you stop, she'll nudge, jump, and lick you until you pet her again; she's so needy i love it haha

then there's my other dog, who thinks he's the boss and changes his barking voice when there's suspicious people outside our gate and when he wants attention he can make himself look like a puppy again and whine like a baby.

Our puppy likes to play with ice cubes, he throws it up in the air and chases after it, he carries it in his mouth before realising it's too cold and he also loves to roll around with it. He's really funny and cute with it, we haven't really had any other dog who's been that interested in ice cubes. :')

one of my cats, simba, also really does that staring thing when someone's eating, he also won't drink out of his water bowl, you need to run the tap for him.. and he'll stand for ages doing this really high and awful sounding meow until someone runs the tap for him. He also just generally acts kind of like a dog, he gives paws and things. He also wants to eat everything, literally everything, especially cakes, it's odd.

One of the other cats does something really odd, he hugs people (mainly just my mum) but he literally wraps his arms around her neck as a young child would, it seriously looks kind of weird.

I like reading about everyone's odd pets,
