You could always do the newbie grid, where you choose one row and fill the rest with townies and a few blues.
it looks a bit like this. It needs 9 players only and uses majority lynch.

How does everyone feel about "super-micro" games?
Literally 4 Town vs. 1 Mafia and see how that goes?
That means a Day 2 Lynch-or-Lose as a worse-case scenario, yes, I get that.
While it doesn't bring players in, it improves the current ones--addressed below.
More simplicity, like in the first three games, should be played at least a few times as a Nub Mafia. I also feel like TBT Mafia nowadays has become somewhat ability-centered in that there are...
1.) maybe three people who are actually attempting to look for scum in each game and every townie rides on their backs
and then the reason I refer to it as being "ability-centered:"
2.) Most people who have an ability seem to be relying heavily on this ability to do their scumhunting for them, instead of playing the game the way it was made to be played as and actively getting involved. I know I'm guilty of this myself. I know many others are.
Now, a lot of the original Mafia community has dispersed, and that is saddening:

Basically, what I believe we need to do is make Mafia more fun and spread the word instead of being the social recluses we are about it. Mafia was like a bunch of people that gathered for a cult meeting when I first joined, but now like 6 of those people still play and we're not being too open about spreading it to others.
I can host a Nub Mafia if we get enough interest.

Yes this is what i've been trying to do. In my Smash game i invited a ton of new people to play, but in the end some of them were "innactive". However players like Monkeyd99 and Lucanosa did pretty good though.
