Official Turnip Prices Thread

My turnip prices are at 415 bells today. Send me a message if you want to come sell. Tips are appreciated!

EDIT: The shops are shut now. I am sorry if you couldn't sell your turnips at my town.

Idk where to put this, but this seemed like the most fitting thread to talk about this. It's been kind of frustrating.

I've been seeing people complain about hosts (who offer to let people into their town to sell turnips for hours and hours at a time) mentioning that they would appreciate tips. Saying that even the slightest talk of tips makes the host "mean" or "greedy." Now, I would understand these people getting upset if the host were demanding a certain amount of tips per person in order to sell in their town, but that isn't the issue here. It's the fact that some people find asking for tips to be absolutely rude. It's not even asking, it's just giving people the option for tips.

Personally, I tip at any host's town whether they ask for it or not. Why? Because it's respectful, and I have the money to spare--even if it may not be much at times. It's something. It's kind of like eating out with your friends at a restaurant, and making the poor waiter wait your table for hours because your friends don't want to leave. When your group finally decides to leave after several hours of eating and chatting, the waiter finds out that you and your friends didn't leave a single tip. That's pretty rude imo.

Now, I'm not saying that it should be mandatory to tip (that's silly), but you shouldn't automatically assume someone is mean because they're giving people the option of tipping. :/

people actually think that way? ^
i mean, i forgot to leave a tip for you when I used your services but didn't want to bug you by coming back and going through that trouble so I just tried to provide a wi-fi rating. still kinda feel bad. ;-;

First off, sorry for the frustration about the whole thing.

I'm about the same way. I tip usually for pretty much anything.

Usually, I ask if it is alright if I tip or not--because some people actually end before I can leave something in time--or in case the person is offended if I leave a tip or not; believe it or not, that has happened before. I even sometimes add extra on top of that, if I am buying something from someone. Mostly it is because they took time out of their schedule to help me out and everything.

And as you said, it's respectful to tip.

You were a great visitor, I didn't even know about the tip thing (don't really care anyway since it was optional)! But yeah, unfortunately there are people who think like that. :/
