I'm sure your mom doesn't want you to get a WiiSpeak for a reason, so I won't advise you disobey her. USB keyboard is a better idea, though. I have the WiiSpeak and I don't use it much because 1. I won't use it with people I don't know and 2. sometimes the sound isn't that clear.

I say no. There are programs that do the same thing as Wii-speak and it's free. I regret buying mine.

No, it's lame, you'll get bored of Animal Crossing and won't use it anymore, plus everyone can hear what your saying and what your friend is saying, which is annoying when you want privacy. Typing is better and cheaper, just attach a keyboard.

I heard that there are programs that will let you speak to another person on the internet. You will need a microphone of course. Try searching up skype. If I am wrong then ignore what I said before.

Don't buy it. Dude, I bought that thing for Wi-Fi and I don't even play AC anymore. Plus, I had to yell for someone to hear me the first time I tried it out... =r Nintendo better come out with more Wii Speak compatible games.

You should probably point out to your parents that this would be more likely with OTHER people having Wii Speak. In other words, all the Wii Speak allows you to do is talk, other people having wii speak allows them to talk to youl. If that's their only objection, then point them out to them.

Now, as a parent, here's the line that usually works best on me: "You shouldn't worry about that. You raised me to know better than that."

Then, of course, there's the compromise route... see if they'll let you get a USB keyboard instead. It makes chat much easier than the on-screen keyboard, but not as easy as the Wii Speak.
