OMG! A NEW PAPER MARIO GAME!

I'm a HUGE fan of the Paper Mario series and this was just uploaded today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I'm a huge fan of the original two the most!!!!!)

It gives me Color Splash vibes (which actually wasn't that bad in regards to dialogue), so I'm hoping it's still going for that good dialogue, but I'm unsure about the gameplay at the moment since not much was shown (hoping for them root/original vibes). I'm just honestly really happy for a new Paper Mario experience coming to the Switch!!!!!!

The new mechanics shown look pretty cool though and just some of the dialogue I've seen I'm already in love.

Ya after the studio behind the Mario and Luigi's shut down, I am hoping they go back in the original direction! I believe that was their reasoning for taking Paper Mario in a different direction but now that that series is dead, maybe they will go back? I can't believe that Nintendo doesn't know how popular the old system was, they must know right?

After watching the trailer like 10 million more times, I think it may actually be going that way? It may be using more common characters still, but it seems like it may have partners and the plot looks amazing, plus a little bit of original characters.

I went back to analyze the trailer some more, timestamp 1:39 in particular scares me though, "Shiny Boots" sounds a lot like the consumable sticker system that we have had for the past few games and is what I disliked about the new direction the most ;-;

True... maybe they're trying to please everyone in the community somehow with every direction they've gone so far.

Oo I have one for you! Do you know of any mods like Master Quest for TTYD? I love that game but I feel like I need something to challenge me more in that game and double pain doesn't quite do it haha

I've definitely heard of them, but I never got around to playing around with any of the mods yet. I've been meaning to, and I feel like I have a bigger motive now to before this game releases.

I was just watching this. The intro with origami Peach is a huge throwback to TTYD and the shadow queen but other footage has me skeptical. I’ll be getting it regardless! I mean, I always have the first two here to replay if I need to satisfy my itch for the old style again.

Paper Mario games have always been a lot of fun to play through, and this one looks like it's going to be pretty good too!

Oops I didn’t notice this thread when I made one this morning!

I’m definitely interested. I wasn’t a big fan of Sticker Star and haven’t played much of Color Splash because it hasn’t really piqued my interest, but I am eager for a new PM game. I’m not going to be preordering it because my backlog is pretty big, and I’d like to watch some gameplay videos before I buy it so I can see if it’s something I should spend my money on. Still, I’ll be keeping an eye on it!

Paper Mario is one of my favorites. Was not expecting to see this today! I'm pleasantly surprised with a summer 2020 release date too.

The two bits of the battle system I saw looked promising and I'm in LOVE with the style. Looks like it'll be full of charm.
