I've been playing a lot of smash ultimate lately and getting bored of most of the modes so I tried online which in fighters games I don't usually do but I thought I'm decently good at this game and it should be balanced, oh boy how was I wrong. I did ten matches won 1 XD, which made me going from having 1,500,000 GSP down to 150,000 GSP and I've realized that I think its unbalanced just by going on GSP since I saw so many people who had low GSP but really shouldn't since they were so good and I'm pretty confused how they got down so much. I want to get other peoples opinions so here we are.

Thanks

Compared to the Wii U online experience, it's kind of annoying to play random opponents. I never encountered people teabagging in the previous game but there are tons of people who do so now, whether you're beating them or not. Sometimes they do it just to bait you to attack or waiting for you to respawn after you lose a stock even if you're beating them in stock count and percentage and it's obnoxious. Guess that's the sort of atmosphere you get when the game is so popular and on a great selling platform though.

I still play randoms a lot though because I like the game and it's good practice. Plus not everyone's disrespectful, and it's enjoyable to when you do defeat the people that are immature.

GSP seems like a weird system. You could be facing someone working their way up like you are, or you could be facing someone who is ridiculously good but who has had a few unlucky matches and slid down the ranking enough to fall into your "skill bracket." It also kind of seems like trying to control something with too many variables to be controlled. Some of my best characters have less GSP than characters I only use sometimes because of dumb luck with the opponents I faced.

Battle Arenas with friends are fun though, I like coming up with silly names for the arenas, choosing the song that plays and just having some pleasant competition.

GSP is a mess but thankfully there's a solution. Don't play Quickplay, arenas are so much better. You don't have to worry about any kind of rankings, and you can clearly see the rulesets before entering so you know what you'll get every single game in them. And because GSP isn't there to provide an incentive to win, people will play the game like normal instead of QP where you'll get a 3 stock 3 minute game with someone so that they can win by running away the entire game.
I've played a ton of both competitive 1v1 and casual items spam free-for-all arenas and both of them are fun to play in and the people are generally nice!

That's what I'm getting about GSP makes no sence and it doesn't help that after losing one match you lose like 500,000 GSP. Another thing is that lately I have seen some teabagging from now and then. To be quite frank they need to look into how this works and how they can improve the GSP system or make a new and improved system. Never really tried online in ssb4 since I got bet by my friend so many times that I just quit online.

I do agree but what about the challenges for online like do they want us to play online with that system. I know hammers are in the game but I rather use those for other harder challenges.
