Corn!!!! Peas have this weird mushy texture when you chew on them that I can't eat them on their own, it has to be with other mixed vegetables so I can down them 😭 I love corn though! Really nice flavor. Plus the native corn we have is more white in color and softer, I absolutely love eating it whenever we have at home.

While I'm more of a Steakhouse Green Beans and Raw Broccoli with sour cream kind of guy, I'll pick corn since it's a voting option.

I loveee corn, peas are ok but they need to be right out of the garden. Just so versatile and yummy, good texture too.

Probably corn! Although I like both, and actually had peas for years before I tried corn. Both have a place - I prefer peas with hearty things like pie, and corn with spicier dishes I'd say.

I see a lot people who are gonna get Miss Piddlin’s wrath around here! Boy you don’t want to let her maniacal rage get the best of her.

both are delicious, but corn definitely takes the cake for me! extra points if it's on the cob 🌽

Now what’s this I hear you all talking about corn being better?

I was super confused about this thread since I don't see the connection between the two at all
But side dishes, huh!
Side.. dishes. I don't eat... either for side dishes. So none for me.
I would imagine corn on the cob would be a side dish. I was confused with this thread as well lol. I thought 'Is this another dusting thread that resurfaced' 😆

You know, I like peas, and I probably would have said that a year ago…but now I really like corn. Especially fresh off the cob. It has a nice texture, and it’s especially good salted. With peas, you don’t get that as much.

I SEE... I am learning something new..
I usually just eat corn on the cob as a snack or a meal...
I'm just thinking of summer cook outs or like 4th of the July gatherings. A lot of times they'll have corn on the cob, but burgers, hotdogs, ect are considered the main part. As a snack, meal, or side it's still great though!

Miss Piddlin’s about to lose her temper!
Maybe I'd like peas by themself if they didn't taste so nasty Miss Piddlin!

I like peas, but usually not by itself. They're great adding to stews/soups and you can't have a good potpie or a similar dish without them added.

i know you're talkin strictly on the side (corn clears duh) but this thread got me about to chase down the elotero so thank you 🤝
