Petition for Birthstone Collectible Changes

Okay so when I first joined TBT I thought birthstone collectibles were the best thing since sliced bread and now I really dislike them, like really dislike them.

1. First off, after looking to buy some so I can collect the full set, I learned they can only be exchanged once, yet all other exchangeable collectibles (candy, fruit, ice cream, cakes, eggs, feathers, houses, etc) can be sent as many times as you want. This kind of really upset me, considering it doesn't make sense to limit how many times it can be exchanged; it pretty much makes it valueless since after you send it to someone they're stuck with it forever, and can't resell it.
One thing I want to quickly bring up, was that just recently it was added in the shop a note to the birthstones you can purchase that they can only be gifted once, it wasn't always there. Really upsetting because I would've saved my TBT if I knew that before.

2. Second, you're only allowed to have one of each. Also kind of upsetting; what about those who want to fill their line-up with nothing but rubies? I'm not as upset about this as I am the "1-exchange-only" thing, but still I think it would be nice to be able to make unique line-ups with different and same stones.

3. Third and final thing, apparently there's a rumor that when the next August birthstone (peridot) comes out, after that they'll make them out of stock permanently. Really? Yeah, I know it's a rumor, but seriously? Then once all of the birthstones have been exchanged it'll be physically impossible to get anymore. Although their value will increase, you have to go back to the first issue, how they can only be exchanged once. Even though they are out of stock, they still have no value with that exchange limit. So if they do plan on making them out of stock, the least admins/mods could do is allow multiple exchanges.

So... I'm hoping I can start a petition (;n; I'm sorry if it's not allowed to do this, if it isn't please tell me so I can go and hide and torture those evil birthstones OH and lock this thread) and maybe possibly make the whole birthstone thing better, at least in my opinion. If I can make a petition, then I'd appreciate all the feedback as far as what you agree with (1, 2, and 3), and then whether or not you'd be willing to "give me your signature" (I'd put them all in a spoiler with which ones you agree with).
Again, I'm sorry if this isn't allowed ;_; I just want to see other's views as far as the whole birthstone thing is as of now. Thank you for taking your time to read it all~

Birthstones aren't meant to be like the rest of the collectibles. They don't have a stock limit and they consistently rotate every year, unlike the rest of the collectibles which tend to be stock limited and don't have a timed restock tied to them.

This is pretty much the point of them. They're outside of the collectible market, meant to be kept to show that you've been here those months instead of traded around.

One thing I don't understand is why are they having birthstones for only two years? I can understand why we can have only one or why they can be traded once, but why not give them a third year?

The one thing about this is that many people don't warn newer members that they can only be traded once. When I first joined I was selling something and someone offered me two birthstones + TBT for it, even though I said I didn't want collectibles. This member told me I could just resell them which obviously wasn't true, looking back at it.

Firstly, I think it's RUDE to receive something as a gift from one of your friends, then you go and resell it. If someone gives you something, meaning they'd think you keep it, you keep it. That's how I do things. If I get a gift from someone, I don't sell it. I don't get rid of it. I keep it.

birthstones are boring

we need a new monthly collectable instead of the stones that don't even look like what they're supposed to (the colours aren't correctly associated with some months) for example the ruby stone is pink when rubies are red.. and the garnet should be a darker shade of red.

I think zodiac sign collectibles would be an interesting replacement.

I know but that's not exactly helpful if you're trading in thread and not buying directly

I understand why they're meant for showing which months you are on, but the end of them was just a rumor I heard, they might go another year or so.

Either way, I just thought some of their limitations was kind of pointless if they're going to be out of stock forever. But like I said, it's just my opinion.

In regards to them being discontinued or continued, as far as I know that is still yet to be announced (or even decided). I'm not sure where the rumour that they are gone in September came from. At least, I'm pretty certain that I myself have never stated that!

I only vaguely remember maybe a thread saying they would be discontinued...don't know which one though. But I'm not certain. So if they're not being discontinued, great~ >v<

I think the rumor started because originally, the birthstones were only suppose to go 1 year. (to august, I think because they began in September.).

After the first year, in one of the directs, it was announced that the series will go for one more year, at least. I dont remember how it was worded, but it was left purposefully ambiguous as to whether there would be a 3rd cycle. The only guarantee was the 2nd year so as we get close that date, i think people are assuming they may end as no guarantee was ever issued that a 3rd year of it will happen.
