I mean to be fair, they kind of are doing the half-baked game release thing. Sometimes they’ll release games that aren’t finished and then try to finish it with updates. It’s just a little less egregious (most of the time) than something like Cyberpunk 2077.I really, really appreciate how Nintendo hasn't sold out like most of the video games industry, in terms of micro-transactions & loot boxes, half-baked game releases, only online live service modes and no zero or terrible single player, etc.. We're lucky Nintendo believes so strongly in their way of making games
not disagreeing with you, just curious which ones you felt that way about? i feel like for at least the big main series, games are pretty polished, mario / zelda / smash / etc. pokemon is a whole different story, but that's not nintendo's fault mostlyI mean to be fair, they kind of are doing the half-baked game release thing. The big series Switch games usually have more care put into them, but most Switch Mario Sports games are an example. It’s not like they’re super glitchy games but when you look at the content in them at launch, it’s way less than the previous games. I don’t even care about Mario Sports games but I’ve noticed that. Other examples would include New Horizons, Switch Sports, etc. It’s not like they’re unplayable, but if you’ve played earlier games in the series you would be able to notice that. At the very least they’re better than most AAA companies for not releasing games that don’t even seem play-tested, but most of the times the “updates” are just things that should have already been there being disguised as new content.not disagreeing with you, just curious which ones you felt that way about? i feel like for at least the big main series, games are pretty polished, mario / zelda / smash / etc. pokemon is a whole different story, but that's not nintendo's fault mostly
New Horizons was an excellent game, but I get that it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, I don't think that was due to lack of polishing though. I will give you some of the secondary series / sports titles, some of those can be pretty rough around the edges. I was excited for Mario Strikers' revival, first impressions were pretty good, then everyone realized there was no depth to it and it didn't stand up to the Gamecube/Wii versions, for example. The big series Switch games usually have more care put into them, but most Switch Mario Sports games are an example. To be honest, I actually do like New Horizons. I think there’s better AC/Switch games but I still think the game is good. My point is that the game is polished, but I just feel like it looked kind of bare at launch, even if I got it after all the updates. I just think it would have been way better if the updates actually added things we haven’t seen in any AC game before.New Horizons was an excellent game, but I get that it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, I don't think that was due to lack of polishing though. This is really interesting. 90% of people don't make it 10% into the game. People need to research a little better the games theyre buying!I don’t know why but I think it’s funny how far people that bought Sonic Unleashed actually got into the game, at least on the Xbox release, based on the achievement completion rates, which takes into account the rates for both people who got it on Xbox 360 and on a newer Xbox using backwards compatibility. For example, one wants you to save the first continent. You get this like, three or four stages in, and yet only 30% of people have done it. I’m going to guess that most people played the game, got to the first nighttime stage, and immediately decided they didn’t want to play the game anymore.
Same with the Mega Man Classic compilations. Literally every achievement in both compilations is a rare achievement, so less than 10% of people got any of them. I guess in this case, most people bought it to relive their childhood but then realized they were actually pretty hard and couldn’t beat a single one (each game has an achievement just for beating it once). I’m going to be one of the psychopaths that gets every achievement in all of the games I mentioned.
