Although it's hard to believe any rumors about an upcoming Nintendo Direct as that should only be taken with a grain of Sodium Chloride, it would help if there's any announcement that Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing are coming to Nintendo Switch Online. There's also the upcoming Wave 6 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Pack.

I do wish for a Zelda equivalent of SM3DAS (like Legend of Zelda: 3D Triforce Collection), but odds of that coming in 2023 is low.

Stadium food is SUPER overpriced. $6 for a small (barely 5 oz) ice cream. $4 for a bottle of water. $15 for reaheated chicken wings and tater tots. There’s no reason for this!
Greed is one hell of a thing. It'd be really nice if low concession prices like for Mercedes-Benz Stadium were the norm rather than the exception for all arenas/stadiums.

Inflation has invaded all of us, it doesn't help when we get low allowance either. (Even though I don't work, I understand the economy is messed up rn)

In the grocery stores I go to, they have raised everything up! Back in my day, bread used to cost 30¢ where nowadays it's 2-5$ a loaf. Fast Food isn't safe from this either. A McDonald's regular cheeseburger used to cost only 2-3$, now it's double of that.

This is why my Mom and I go to cheap alternative grocers like Aldi, they have things for how they used to be sold.

When a certain show, game, or movie isn’t made for your audience, it’s still okay to like it. If a boy wants to play with girl toys, or if a girl wants to play with boy toys, that’s fine. There’s one exception, however. Media that was made for adults (like South Park, Family Guy, or films with an R rating) should not be watched by kids or even younger teenagers, and it’s for a good reason. This kind of material may corrupt children. If kids aren’t allowed to watch Tom & Jerry for being too violent or having racial stereotypes, then they definitely shouldn’t be allowed to watch South Park.

PG-13 related material isn’t any better. While you are allowed to access this media at a younger age, it’s where graphic violence begins to kick in. So it’s technically an adult rating. Some parents wouldn’t let their kids watch or play this media.

Even media geared towards kids need to be watched after (especially those daytime Cartoon Network shows from the 2000’s). While they don’t have content or subject matter from adult shows, some of the other media aren’t safe for kids. And no, I’m not talking about Tom and Jerry or Looney Tunes. I’m talking about Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Chowder, Flapjack, Johnny Test, post-movie SpongeBob, and a handful of E10+ games. The problem? They teach the wrong morals, and they may make kids do bad stuff as they get older, which will result in them facing real consequences. For instance, Chowder stereotypes obese people and mental illnesses, while some of the humor may come off as sexist or homophobic in today’s age. If kids watch this show, they may resort to real bullying, such as fat shaming.
I’m going to PM you on this one because I don’t want this thread to get bloggy. However, my argument basically comes down to the fact that relying strictly on the ratings is neglectful- parents should be more involved and assess the media to a degree themselves,
because A. it’s really obvious some ratings are just bunk, and B. kids go through and can handle different things, and sometimes parents bar them from things they could be okay with. (Or expose them to things that are worse than whatever they’re barring. For example, now I’m fine with watching medical surgery shows but I was very verbally uncomfortable with it as a kid, yet my mom put it on like it was totally fine, and to this day that honestly probably has left a subconscious negative mark on me and my perception of blood etc - honestly tho I’m still not ok with watching this surgery on animals and she still casually throws that on so screw what I’m actually saying to her and consenting to viewing I guess.)
Sure, a kid can get the wrong idea from Chowder but in that case it’s the parent’s job to step in and talk and take responsibility. I grew up with The Big Bang Theory (this is despite it being rated M here, my mom had such a casual perception of it that I was arbitrarily allowed) and that show was full of misogyny and transphobia and general bitterness honestly. She never spoke to me about that. I grew out of it because of real better life experiences and some people I could talk to. it isn’t even because my parents were responsible and taught me better in that case but that could have helped and they just had really arbitrary standards for what to show me because of how much they trusted the ratings and because of really silly perceptions on certain things being ok to them so it must be ok for me. In their defense the 00’s were a terrible time in regards to transphobia with casual transpobia everywhere and it was hardly being called out at all and even more people didn’t understand but that’s another topic.

In the age of the Internet kids are even likelier to stumble onto things that aren’t okay for them and I get the sinking feeling that there would be more parents blaming the kids for accidentally finding things rather than taking the blame as adults for being uninvolved.

according to our ratings board, this is as bad for children as monster hunter:

Also, the last Harry Potter films were rated MA15+ here, and I was still in primary school, but I was allowed to see those (in theaters no less)- and honestly, I don’t think that had a negative impact on me. Am I saying to show it all to kids, NO but it was clearly something I personally could handle, and I wish I got more grace for that with some of the goofier ratings, and my mom listening more when I didn’t want to see certain imagery, and more involement in general. Regardless from now I am putting this in PMs. Sorry for putting this much in the topic on the first place.

what I really came to post is omggg the Creep stream numbers, I hate this 😭 I don’t actually think Creep is a bad song but this is insane slander
Kind of cool to see an AMSP song in the top at least

You can send me a PM. You're on my following list. According to my privacy settings, only those on my following list are allowed to VM me or PM me. And anyone can be on my following list if they start following me.

But it is a good idea to PM me since this thread isn't meant to be a regular discussion thread, but more of an anything thread.

Aldi has amazing snacks. I really like those PB cups and tag-a-long bootlegs.

Edit maybe bootleg isn't the right word LMAO!
Knock offs?
They are great though

I enjoy participating in TBT’s site events like Camp TBT and the TBT Fair, but if I were given a choice to sacrifice my chance of participating in these events to serve the staff in running the events, I’m willing to accept it. I’m fine either way.

But that also means I need to behave better and stop focusing too much on the past or my reputation. There’s no room for a bad apple.

No thoughts just this
If there’s one kart racing game better than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it’s gotta be this one.

The best racetracks would definitely be those winter ones. They were my favorite even before I got into the winter theme.

This weather needs serious therapy. There's more lightning outside than thunder even though it's supposed to be a THUNDERstorm. It's not even raining, it's just a lot of lightning.

Edit: it went from just being stupid to actually being really annoying. I actually can't focus on anything with how loud the thunder is.

So much of the year is already over now, and we’re not even at the 9/11 anniversary yet. But then again, I can recall a couple of years where the most exciting events occurred in November and December. Like 2003, 2016, or 2017.

Just 6 chapters left. Can't wait to start book #9, Winter's Heart! DAMN, this series is good!

While tomorrow marks the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks, Friday marks the 60th anniversary of another terrorist attack in the United States.

In some way, I’m kinda glad that I didn’t join two days later. My join date is going to stick to my account forever, and it’s best not to have September 11th as my join date on the American time zones. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I didn’t want that to be my join date.

If you guys have the time, you should look at some pictures of that bird in A Bug’s Life. It looks like a plastic bird.

CGI technology has advanced this much since the movie’s release.
